So I was at the beach, and this woman had made the mistake of leaving her food unattended while she was playing with her kids in the water. Next thing you know, a whole flock of seagulls are fighting over her sandwiches, and one just takes the whole thing and flies off. It turned out to be a pretty neat moment to capture… although afterwards I kind of felt like an asshole, because this poor woman got her lunch stolen right in front of me, and all I did was photograph it instead of shooing the birds away :P *photo taken at Santa Monica beach, CA

Not happy at all. Went to Warringah Mall today to specifically to buy a pencil case. I like the smiggle store and it seems they like me to. I wandered in, and all over the wall, on mouse pads, pencils cases, book covers, and every other thinkable item was their design called ‘samurai’ excuse the bad photo, it was taken with my iphone, but ill get better photos next time im at the mall. just needed to jump on to redbubble and vent. I have had someone from zazzle steal my geisha design but they didnt realise that what they were doing was wrong. this is an Australian company with lots of stores stealing from a local designer!! madness! / will get better pics very soon! / mikoto’s samurai what do i do now? I spoke to the store manager and they said that the designer is from Melbourne? Chinese stealing from the chinese!! / Some photographers /artists get most concerned about copyright… / The above image/fake was found in a side street in Hongkong.YES it is a fake…no signature!! History tells us that many believed that you learnt from copying another’s work. Schools were even set up where artists could perfect or at least try and come up with the secrets of the artists’ mind. China certainly knows that she has learnt from the ideas of others…...... maybe she is also laughing at the west….......... check wikipedia for further info.on copyright/famous artists of China /

I needed to take a break from the project I have been working on for the last month, so I decided to indulge in a little conceptual photography. I had this concept in my mind ever since I made the Flashback Triptych with my old Skipper doll. I bought a toy gun at the dollar store last week and made the setup today while waiting for my DxO to process a dozen horse pictures. This is not the most happy portrait, but life can get really ugly, unfortunately… Shot with light coming from behind the white sheet to get a silhouette effect. A red acrylic square was held in front of the lens to procure a red filter effect. / Finally, I applied one of my textures to add some dirt and grit. Focal length 20mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/80 sec. Shot in manual mode / Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR Featured in the group Studio Lighting on June 18, 2009 Finished in 9th position of Top Ten in the Controversial Art challenge of the Unconventional Artistry Group on July 14, 2009
