  • yesterday I attemped to have a conversation with someone about what consitutes a ‘real photographer’. rather that respond he reacted by telling me I’m a negative psyhco bitch, the only bad thing about Redbubble and should hurry out to buy razor blades and kill myself. no shit! I guess this means I’ll never be a ‘real photographer’ so to celebrate my freedom from the label of ‘real’ I’ve decided to concentrate on posting some UNREAL photographs. Here’s the first. This is a chance shot taken while someone slept in the set of an alternative theatre production some years ago. Vale Peter your real to me still though you are no longer real in a corporeal sense.

  • It is sad when people see themselves as failures, that one mistake constitutes a disaster and that we cannot recover from it. It is sad that we see ourselves as unattractive, grotesque. When we look in a mirror all we see are faults, when we look back on our lives we see nothing but bad. We capture bad moments and turn them into a lifetime of regrets or reproach. We have bad dreams and turn them into nightmares. We cock a snoot at helping hands or turn our backs on the very people reaching out to us. / When will we learn that perfection is just a word in the dictionary, and that it is nothing more than a benchmark or a millstone… it is our choice.

  • Winner of the Vintage Lettering Challenge (My first challenge win!) Featured in Anything Theatrical Group The Astor Theatre in St Kilda was built 1935-36. The Astor Theatre is architecturally significant as a highly intact, rare survivor of a Jazz Moderne, or Art Deco, style cinema. Its façade includes a stepped parapet wall, a projecting bay flanked by three large recessed panels with casement windows, and a cantilevered awning with pressed metal ceiling. The projecting bay features an eight point star in bas relief with an illuminated neon sign and flanked by twelve illuminated, ascending stars. Beneath the theatre awning are four shopfronts and the theatre entrance. The side walls are red brick and the roof is corrugated iron. Source: Victorian Heritage Register Canon 450D / ISO 800
