Ever felt the heavy heart of saying goodbye? In love, in life, in death. Family, lovers, friends. An empty track and sad, sad heart. Whiteman Park, Swan Valley, Perth. When I found this little station, I found myself thinking of the work of two photographers: Don, an awesome photographer who loves trains! He does wonderful landscapes and other great work. He’s given me so much help over the past few years – a generous soul with a great eye for photography. Paul Louis Villani also leapt into my head. He has some incredible images of trains and train stations. While I wouldn’t even attempt to immitate his style, his work gives me so much inspiration, and got me thinking about how I would like to present this scene. My fav image of his is Still standing For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / The exhibition theme was inspired by the Vivaldi’s music ‘The Four Seasons’. Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Background: I had been working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm, movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation of any music requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, the knowledge, understanding and experience one brings to canvas for the moments of manifestation. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

Millions of birds in the world embark on huge migrations twice each year. Sandhill cranes are large birds that also take part in the archetypal journey. This image is a composite, built on an actual capture of six birds one afternoon on the Fraser River estuary of south west British Columbia, and an image captured earlier of the full moon. I created this work based on personal sitings of migratory birds flying through moonlight. I titled my work, The Journey, because there is so much symbolism for all of us in the concept of a journey, or a quest. This journey is a quest for life.

As a child, my treasured stuffed animal (as all children tend to have) was a little squirrel who went on every kind of adventure with me, and my favorite story was about a lil’ squirrel named “Miss Suzy” – written by Miriam Young, and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. I love the thought of the tiny leaf-boat capturing the attention of the denizens of the pond as it passes by en route to a wonderous place. January 10th, 2009 – WOW!! Thank you so much for the front page feature!!! I’m so delighted! If you like Columbus – you might enjoy some of my other little animal works!! / / /
These refugee’s were traveling to Chad via Niger and stopped near our rig site to make repairs to their truck. After giving them water food and milk for the women, babies and children, they were gracious enough to let me take some shots. They still had 1000km to travel at this point…......Life is sometimes very cruel! Unfortunately i could not get any better shots of the women and children as they were safely nestled up on top. / Shot in the Sahara desert, Libya. / Nikon D300, 24 – 120mm at 58mm, f18, 1/250, ISO 200. / / . / / . /

My Website Thomas wrote a lovely poem for this image I created. Please go check out his work. / Thank you so much Tom !! :) Tracks of Life At times the tracks of our lives lead us on a path through the darkest reaches of our minds. / The mist covers the memories of moments we need to pass, let go of, move on from. / Our fears scream from the darkness, clawing at our souls, grabbing at our hearts. / If we pause we are lost. / The journey takes us through the darkness into a light filled with hope. / Rays of security fill us with warmth and / the strength to drive forward into a world bright with love Thomas Simunsen

Taurus and his love, Aida, have journeyed across many worlds to return Aida to her homeland, and to pay homage to Leo, the Lion Queen. On their travels, they have met many new friends and animals, the like of which they had never seen before. It was an arduous journey, but worth all the trials and tribulations for when they finally saw the Lion Queen, they knew they had arrived. They gave thanks. Taurus sang his song to Aida…Celeste Aida And to you, my sweet Aida, / To return crowned with laurels, / To tell you: for you I have fought, / For you I have conquered! / Heavenly Aida, divine form, / Mystical garland of light and flowers, / You are queen of my thoughts, / You are the splendour of my life. / I want to give you back your beautiful sky, / The sweet breezes of your native land, / To place a royal garland on your hair, / To raise you a throne next to the sun. ! / MCN :: CCQ2D-XTBV6-VWK5K / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This image was created totally in Photoshop CS4. / I created the background using many layers of my own images and textures, blended together. / The morphed animals and the little dragon were created from my own stock. / Credits for the individual stock components can be found below. / -—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / / Do listen to Pavarotti singing this wonderful song. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / Taurus people usually make very good friends because they tend to be trustworthy and loyal. They’ll go out of their way to help a friend in need, and this help will usually be very tangible and practical. Taurus people believe in solid actions rather than words, and most follow through on their promises. The same traits that make Taurus people such good friends also make them good prospects as business partners. Taurus people are laid back, tolerant and easy-going. They tend to be diplomatic, and it takes a lot to get them angry. However, on those rare occasions when they are pushed too far and they blow up, they can be dangerous to themselves and others. When crossed, Taureans hold grudges forever. Most of the time they’re placid and easy to get along with, however, and their nonjudgmental nature puts others at ease. Taureans like to attend parties or entertain, but they are also homebodies and if they do travel, they prefer to do it in comfort rather than roughing it. Unless they have the ascendant in a fire sign they usually don’t like to get cold and dirty, though most do like outdoorsy pursuits such as hikes, picnics and days at the beach. Taurus people tend to be good cooks and hosts. They often collect attractive things, decorate nicely, and their homes are very cozy and enjoyable for those who visit. Taurus people not only like comfort for themselves but try to make others comfortable as well, both physically and psychologically. Spending time with a Taurus friend usually involves good meals or tasty treats in a relaxing atmosphere. Taurus people tend to acquire money and become successful in the long run. This slow and steady progress is attributable to reliability and a good work ethic. They have a phobia of poverty and will work very hard to avoid this. Taureans prefer to stick with one field and work their way up rather than jumping from job to job and they usually impress their bosses with diligence, reliability and integrity. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This is the eleventh in the ‘World of The Zodiac’ series. I often think about how I came here naked and pretty beat up. My life was not working. Through Art I got a sense of feeling again I connected to my Source aka.. Nipple.. (tehee) / When I connected to Source, I was able to reach out and allow others back into my world again thus I created or Allowed … Community. RB Community is practice all the time for me to go outside my door and become more, become a part of my world around me.
