The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly’s wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing). The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.

This is my 3rd and final piece in this series and I believe it closes this chapter yet leaves the door open to endless possibilities. Took this macro photograph with aperture priority, late in the afternoon, it was getting quite dark so I used a flash on this shot! Just love Palm tree bark, this one had been burnt at some stage creating the charcoal sections. I have a few more fascinating photos which I will be uploading soon! / My passion is macro photograhy. I love to find hidden landscapes and abstract art in the bark of trees or in rocks. I also am quite partial to macro floral photography! The main background is the plaster texture inverted. The splatter texture is overlayed on the viewers right. The 02 FAC texture was uploaded into the texturizer and applied to the face with the effect erased from the eyes and cheeks so it is most evident on the lips, nose and forehead. The 01 FAC texture was darken-layered around the edges of the image after I colored it magenta using the hue/saturation slider. The remaining elements are parts of my photos, model is my wife Candace who is my greatest inspiration.

This was taken up at the Ornamental Gardens in Summerland BC, shortly prior to my run-in with the sleeping bears. I was sad to cut my photo taking short, as the colours were absolutely crazy beautiful! This is a very busy image…...and it breaks all the rules…..but what the heck :)
