Garlic and chilli prior to being mortar and pestled for bolognese sauce. They were crushed along with a dash of virgin olive oil, whole black and red peppercorns, rock salt and fresh basil picked from my garden. Eventually cooked and simmered slightly with a brown onion, a dash of red wine and kalamata olives thrown in the mix along with some chopped fresh tomatoes. I took this image because I loved the organic natural woody textures and tones that beset them in the kitchen light. :)) Featured in the Natural Light and Color Group and the If it doesnt belong group!
Acrylic on canvas.

Placed in the Top Ten in the July Avatar Challenge for the Just Brown group – June 09 – thank you! Africa has millions of children orphaned by HIV / AIDS. Jacob, 15, our adopted son, is one of them. He is smart, clever, funny, generous, wonderful and (I think) gorgeous!! Taken using a Canon 400D, natural light. PP in photoshop.

A series of organic, earthy, original paintings meant to be displayed together, or hung in groups of 2 or 3 or alone. These paintings were created in the spirit to represent a feeling of earthy elements, organic compositions and natural, earthy colors. Paint layering process is used in these paintings to create many layers and depths of texture. This particular painting “Organic Elements” Series I has earthy yet vibrant colors of yellow, gold, brown, red, orange, and bronze.
This was a commissioned piece for Zaira.
