Chinese chess, like western chess, is a strategy game based on warfare. And just like the kings of western chess, the generals in Chinese chess is the heart of each side’s army, but their movement is limited to one point at a time. Protect the general at all costs. Design features the Chinese chess piece of the black general (將) with a digital camouflage pattern for lunar warfare on the dark side.

Sometimes, less IS more… This is another altered page in one of the books I use for art journalling. I chose the palette because it was an ‘unknown’ combination for me and I try to experiment as much as possible. I used acrylic paint, poster paint pens and Neocolour crayons.

This is an acrylic painted altered page, journalistic in essence, describing what I would like to see in my journey through the year ahead. I don’t use reds and oranges enough, so this was a challenge for me! The roses are made with one of my handcarved stamps – stylised and quite art-deco for me!
