Across the street from the Pultney Grammar School on South Terrace, Adelaide CBD is a wooden sign at just the right height to put a camera on long exposure. That and the car that drove by at just the right moment, I captured this amazing surreal scene.
Taken as part of a collaboration with Daniel Rarela. He has written a beautiful piece about sexuality and the church, called If Forever Is Denied Daniel explains: / Even if God won’t ever allow to give my heart to any man other than Jesus… I consider it one of His greatest mercies that there will always be music, and there will always be dance. And when the beat is right, all prejudices, hatred, and all around negativity just seem to melt away once you get on the floor. Let’s keep dancing! This image is one of many buildings lit up as part of the 2008 Adelaide Festival. After 9pm the lights come on transforming the building into a personality! The facade reminds me of how individual we can be.
Painted from the terrace of a rented apartment in the tiny village of El Golco. In Andalucia, Southern Spain. / The Moorish architecture, with characteristic domes and ‘godfather’ chimneys. This was my first attempt at ‘en plein air’ painting. / The second of two paintings, I did in El golco. (As I further appraised this, after uploading today, it seems more abstract. Although I didn’t intend that, at the time!) June 2007. / Watercolour, 11” x 8” on rough paper.
North Terrace, Adelaide. 7:15am Anzac Day 2008 ========== You may find my website worth a peek ==========
Winter is over and the camellia has scattered her petals over a neglected corner of our back terrace.
The old olive grove in the parklands on East Terrace, Adelaide, near the centre of the city. You can hardly believe there is a seething metropolis all around this peaceful green spot.
The Colca Canyon, Peru is the deepest canyon in the world, about twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. The Inca terraces seen here are still farmed by local people. /
One of the most impressive sites in Yellowstone National Park is Mammoth Springs. I was struck by the stark contrast of the trees and shadows against the white terraces and in the distance a dark sky was brewing up a heavy rain which fell with extreme coldness and then swiftly moved out of the area. /
I was just leaving my cottage in Dawlish, Devon, to go for a beer at happy hour, and the Terrace was blessed by the presence of this Red Admiral, so I managed to get a couple of pics before he flew off. Hope you like it. / Thanks for looking. Pentax K110D. / Pentax 18-55mm Lens. / Aico x2 Tele Converter..
Melbourne Victory’s North Terrace.
The origin of almshouses lay in medieval monasteries, which built houses from which alms and hospitality were dispensed. The religious links remained: often almshouses were intended to contain small communities who had to attend regular services to pray for the souls of the benefactor. The houses frequently included a chapel and generally the priest who took the services supervised the residents.

Watercolour 12” x 16” on Arches cold-pressed paper Looking toward the Slate Islands from Terrace Bay, Ontario. This view is typical of the area and many days throughout the year the horizon disappears in a mirage of refracted light. / I love the way the sunlight glints off the ice covered rocks along the shoreline.
Fragmented, cubist style townscape painting. This piece has been painted from the imagination.

When I lived in Wijk bij Duurstede, a small, but beautiful town in the Netherlands, I had several plants in pots on my roof terrace. In one of these pots grew a tree.
