  • It was a very wonderful morning and at the altitude, you can easily see the mist hanging over the ocean and the hillsides. The mist is also hanging as a separate layer between the clouds and ocean when looking at the horizon.

  • Taken on a tour around Tenerife – (in Masca) / I really liked the way the palm tree came across the the picture, made it look as though you were looking straight out of a window.

  • Tenerife fisherman returning home from a days fishing as the sun sets falls Image copyright © 2008, Paul T Turner Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited.

  • A view from the mountains in Tenerife, Spanish Canary Island. I just have to go back to this place!! If you look down through the valley, you can see the thread of a road that we traveled to get to a small restaurant.

  • I have recently been to Tenerife and visited Lora Park zoo which is beautifully done and presented well (dont really go along with the idea of zoos) however the primates were the ones that captured me with such expression and feeling. see for yourself.

  • Tenerife, Canarian Islands.

  • Above the clouds, / the world is golden. A lesser known spot of the island of Tenerife at it’s most beautiful. Also available as desktop wallpaper

  • An exotic bird, reptile and cacti park in South Tenerife.

  • white sunset beach tenerife

  • Taken at the natural swimming pool at Puerto Santiago in Tenerife. This pool sticks out into the Atlantic ocean, with water supplied at source. When it’s rough, only a few brave the waves which crash against the pool wall. This couple were challenging each other to dive at just the right time. It was really fun, exciting even, to watch them

  • This is the Concert Hall of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It sits on the edge of the ocean and waves at passers by. Creation of Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. It resembles a wave arching over the city and I like the sharp lines of the building and the fact that it looks different from every side.

  • 1.991 – 2.003 ENGLISH Since 1970 there was already a demand for the company is unmatched in the construction of an auditorium. After contacts with the architect, the Auditorio de Tenerife started with the project so spectacular in 1.991. The play, after relocating to the project in several locations, finally was placed in the new commercial area of Santa Cruz, near the sea, next to his equally Fairs and Conferences. The building, without doubt, gives the impression of continuous movement, unflagging symbol of the architect. For the design of this magnificent work was Santiago Calatrava was inspired by no less than a breaking wave. Potentially modern style and symbolic nature, the Auditorio de Tenerife is composed of a series of curved volumes, some of them lined trencadís technique, Gaudí’s undeniable influence, which overhangs the main body of the curved shape the concrete dome. This huge dome is located no less than 50 meters high with respect to the lower plaza that surrounds it. On both sides of the auditorium, Calatrava indicates the access inside the main hall of the building by two enormous arches placed on a stepped platform. Inside, the majestic building has several distinct spaces, the Symphony Hall, located at level zero and one, has a scenario of 380 m² for a capacity of around 1558 spectators. The other important room, the Chamber Hall, has 150 square meters and a capacity for 428 spectators. In short, the Auditorio de Tenerife is without doubt a unique building and symbol of the island of Tenerife and image externally.

  • El Teide in its full splendour, captured from around 1980m above sea level from Las Canadas crater. A few hours later as I was travelling back from the summit, the weather turned and it rained and then snowed. I travelled up from 22°C at sea level to the crater area around 2,000m and took the cable car up to 3,555m where it was just around 0°C. It was freezing with a high wind chill factor, despite all the extra layers of clothing and the altitude made me dizzy, having gone from approx. 0m to 3,555m in just a couple of hours. El Teide is the highest Spanish mountain, located on the Canary Island of Tenerife. With its highest peak at 3,718 metres above sea level it is a quite amazing phenomenon – within a relatively short drive from beach hotels to the peak. From its base it is also the third highest active volcano in the world, having last erupted in 1909. Location: El Teide National Park, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. / Nikon D70, Sigma 18-200mm. 40mm, 1/120s, f/10. ISO 200. World Heritage Site, Teide National Park Well worth the visit if you ever go to Tenerife but make sure you take warm clothes and check out the weather beforehand. You can only go to the very top with an advance permit. The view to the coast was worth the trip up in the cable car, despite icy cold! / El Teide Calendar: /

  • Approaching the Las Canadas crater on the TF-21 from the village of Vilaflor – at 1,400 m above sealevel it is the highest village on Spanish territory. Unfortunately, the pretty village with a rich cultural history was under the cloud line. The cloud disappeared suddenly when turning a corner on the winding road, not long before this amazing rock formation which forms part of a southern gateway to the crater and the El Teide mountain beyond.
