With another Thunderstorm aproaching Sydney, I just had to get my Camera out. / One thing about Australia that I always found amazing is the crazy amount of telegraph (or power) poles and lines. It must have to do with the ground being tough to dig out. I mean its mainly solid rock… Maybe someone out there has an answer.
Wide green crops of the Mallee district against a blue sky, featuring an old rustic power pole that is one of many covering a number of km’s in this area
North Peake ruin can be found off the Oodnadatta Track and is best accessed by 4wd. / It was once a community that supported the overland telegraph and major telegraph station,a copper mine also operated within sight of the settlement.
These dunes are located close to the old Eyre Telegraph Station, now run as the Eyre Bird Observatory by Birds Australia, On the Great Australian Bight in Western Australia. Recommend the view larger option on this one. Taken with a Canon AE-1P + 20mm f2.8, Provia.

I have sat on this one for a long time, I personally love it, the late evening sky through the glass. It was taken at Holywell Bay, Cornwall. That song breezes in…..................... “Wichita Lineman” I am a lineman for the county and I drive the main road / Searchin’ in the sun for another overload / I hear you singin’ in the wire, I can hear you through the whine / And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line I know I need a small vacation but it don’t look like rain / And if it snows that stretch down south won’t ever stand the strain / And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time / And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time / And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line Glenn Campbell_ Thank you for looking.

I was in Port Adelaide and some blokes were wroking on the old Steam Tug, so I asked if I could take some photos on borad, they were really good and let go down into the engine room.

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Bottles These bottles were in the Cape York Heritage House, Coen – The original Telegraph Repeater Station, which is now a Museum. Coen, Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland, Australia. Coen, an isolated former mining settlement in the heart of Cape York, was also the site of a Royal Australian Air Force Advanced Operational Base including its own aid station. Major gold discoveries during the 1870s, the period regarded as Queensland’s golden era, created great excitement. Gold was even used to promote European settlement in remote areas of the state, particularly the northern areas: residents of the Townsville region offered a reward of £1,000 to anyone who found gold in the area. The allure of gold, coupled with government settlement incentives, led gold seekers to many outlying destinations; in the late 1870s there was a rush to Coen on the remote Cape York Peninsula. 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of “Bottles” will be donated to “thegreataustraliancancerbushwalk” for the Cancer Council. I’m just in the mood for something a bit different so here is one from a year or two back when we had snow up here in Lancaster (unlike this year when we had none!). / Not that you can tell it was snowy here as I rather liked the idea of pushing the contrast to the limit to create a minimalist effect before then applying a gradient filter with more than a dash of the colour orange!! / Hope you like the result! Beechworth is town to spend time just looking. This day we were able to watch while a telegram was sent on original equipment from this, old telegraph office. The area is separated from the shopping centre so you do not get cars and people crowding around who have no interest in history. The building is made from local materials.
