Gothic Lolita or “GothLoli” (ゴスロリ, gosurori; sometimes alternatively “Loli-Goth”) is a subcategory of the Lolita fashion, a street fashion among Japanese female teenagers and, to a lesser extent, men and young women. (From Wikipedia)
My personal favourite of my images iv ever done.
Me and my daughter Melanie in her teens, battling it out. Took the shot myself with the camera on self timer. Just told her to yell as loud as she could. It was scary how natural this came to her. Raising a daughter, especially through her teens, is about as emotionally draining as it gets. I knew support groups were available, but I opted for the mental scars… time will tell if that was the right path!!
Sally Omar / got inspired by This work and wrote this Poem to go with this Image , Thank you sally / —-—-—-—-- / VIRGIN Her smile like a moonbeam / Eyes like a violet dream / Skin so soft and like milk / Covering her hair with silk / Lips full and ever so red / Words of love never said / Breasts untouched by any hand / Never looked upon by any man / A heart so warm beyond compare / Yet no man has never been near / Her legs so long as she walks / Words so eloquent as she talks / Keeping herself ever so pure / Asking for nothing..wanting more / A woman yet a child / Her temperament so very mild / One day a true love will come along / Sing her a beautiful song / She will give her love so freely / And a VIRGIN she will no longer be.
I’m sure every one with children understands these moments quite well… Here is a photo taken of my oldest son..
Dissection is cruel and unnecessary. With the alternative methods available today, schools can save thousands of dollars AND thousands of lives. Some things to consider are psychological impact, education, animal welfare, environment, cost, and chemical exposure. / / ALL proceeds will be donated to the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine. / / “To go against the dominant thinking of your friends, of most of the people you see every day, is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can have.” / ~ Theodore H. Another shot from my model shoot. This time her boyfriend agreed to get in the shot. I took some photos from infront of them too…but I prefer this one.
Heart Built on Tears These are individually placed waterdrops on a CD. The colors come from how the light is refracted on the surface. It’s really easy to arrange shapes since you can just drag the drop with any sharp object and it will stay perfectly spherical and not loose any water :) So this is a bit feminine, but boo double standards :) / These are the descriptions I give on dA —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / Location: Portland, OR / Date: August 30th, 2008 / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Camera: Canon Digital Rebel XSi (450D) / Lens: Canon Macro Lens EF-s 60mm f/2.8 / Focal Length: 60 mm / Flash: Built-In Shutter Speed: 1/60 sec / Aperture: 2.8 / ISO: 400 / — MY PHOTOGRAPHS ARE COPYRIGHTED AND NOT FOR USE OF STOCK, CANNOT BE REDISTRIBUTE, EDITED, AND/OR COPIED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Place second in a selective colour challenge in the Contrasting Perceptions Group – July 09 – thank you! Featured in the group Moms 4 Art – June 09 – thank you so much! The plan was to shoot some fun shots of Perrin (13) in the socks, but while we were busy, Hudson (4) decided he needed to join in the fun. When he plonked himself down in the middle of the shot, I saw an opportunity I couldn’t resist. ( : Canon 400D, pp in photoshop cs2
Featured in Pixelations – the art of Photoshop – July 09 – thanks very much! Me and Jacob (15) been playing!! we’re having an ongoing debate in our house regarding how Jacob should wear his hair… Dad wants an afro, lol, but I’m not so sure. (Jacob wants cornrows of some sort.) We thought we would play around and see how it looks. (This kind of work is definitely not my strong suit, but I had fun!!)
A beautiful Teenage girl leans over a railing by the ocean and flicks her hair. Beautifully captured in black and white with lots of bokeh as the railing gently goes out of focus.
I was taking some evening shots in an empty playground today when this kid came along and scrambled up and sat in this basketball hoop. The sun was just about to set and the moon hung in the southern sky – which was hazy and pink from the forest fire south of us. He seemed a bit surprised by how it felt to be up there and said he was going to go up there more often. this is my (nearly 13 yr old) daughter doing cartwheels in the water at hervey bay… looking at this image makes me think of my childhood for some reason, not sure if it’s because i have just celebrated my 20 yr school reunion and am feeling a little nostalgic… and old… and quite certain i couldn’t do cartwheels anymore, let alone in the water on wet sand :-( /
Hannah is rapidly leaving childhood behind, and turning into one of those strange beings we know as a teenager! Although she is nowhere near her teenage years, her attitude and general outlook on life is that of a budding teen! Nikon d40 18-55mm and editing in CS3, as this was snapped at my mothers without much thought to background or clothing! Natural light through patio doors. Aged 9
