  • The Happy Bear
    by Damian

    US$3.42–US$91.20

This is to show the happy side of the poor bear a couple of images ago. CathieT had asked about it, so I thought I’d put one up. / It wasn’t quite the style I was aiming for, but at least you can see him smiling :)

  • ...prepare for a big surprise… even big girls love bears!

  • A couple of fellow bubblers reminded me of a drawing I did thirteen years ago and brought back a few memories from back then. This one’s for you Fa, and Karin, and anyone else who understands… there was lot’s going on inside my head the day I laid charcoal on paper, one of those days when your hands have a direct line to your heart. Just wanted to share a side of the Dog you won’t see on public display too often.

  • Ted, Bedraggled
    by Elizabeth Freundel

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Old Teddy, much patched and worn, lacking stuffing and fur

  • My entry for the Ap weekend challenge. This is something totally different for me, and while I can`t say that I`m particularly happy with the results it`s been a fun excercise, and worthwhile purely for that alone. All these images were cut out of a magazine, arranged in photoshop, printed out, cut, scratched and torn up, then re-scanned. After being so used to working on the structure and clarity of my lines, this was like trying to perform surgery with a blunt rock The inspiration for the image was taken from one of my favorite Janes Addiction songs, “Ted, Just admit it.” Lyrics: / camera got them images / camera got them all / nothing’s shocking… / showed me everybody / naked and disfigured / nothing’s shocking… / and then he came / now sister’s / not a virgin anymore / her sex is violent… the t.v.’s got them images / t.v.’s got them all / it’s not shocking! / every half an hour / someone’s captured and / the cop moves them along… / it’s just like the show before / the news is / just another show / with sex and violence…

  • No bears or little critters were harmed in these photoshoots, they got fed well with Honey and Jam Sandwiches and Pink Lemonade, which is the reason they have Red Tee Shirts to hide the spills. / /

  • Art for the experts?

James sent me this quote this morning – and it struck a chord. “We live in a society where difficult things are increasingly left to experts and specialists. So people take vacations to New York City to see the great art, buy CD’s to hear the great performances, subscribe (occasionally) to PBS to watch Masterpiece Theatre – and at a glance it all seems entirely positive, even virtuous. Yet that all-too-easy access to perfection comes at a steep price: the loss of individual participation in the arts. In an era where the media confer fame early, instantly, and fleetingly, the opportunity for the measured development of one’s art is the first casualty. And beyond that, how many artists have the reslience and personality to see their still-developing work placed in driect compettion with the legends in their field? Not many. The net result is that we have become a society composed almost entirely of audience. This is unhealthy, both individually and collectively. Artists need to feel they have the support of the community in their artmaking efforts – if not for what they have already achieved, then for the potential they represent. Artmaking is too important to reduce to a spectator sport. We can’t afford to leave artmaking to a chosen few – the few are not enough.” Ted Orland

  • Tatty Ted
    by Adam Stone

    US$3.71

Drawn 2008. Age 21. 3B Pencil This here is a tatty ted, from the well known metoyou teddys. Earlier in the year I applied for a job at Carte Blanche to draw these lovable teddy bears, and this image was my final draft I handed in. I was given an image to copy exactly and I was pleased with this final result… Unfortantely though, when it came to it, i was unsuccessful and much to my dismay i was not offered the job. A terrible shame, but equally i learnt a great deal from it and am happily pusuring other hopefull ideas. I must admit that this image, although seemingly simple, was incredibly taxing. I sadly have never had any training when it comes to drawing techniques, shading or whatnot so I found this very hard at first (before this drawing I had never used a blender before!) but after lots of practising I feel happy with the result. I hope you like him too :-)

  • Fat Ted
    by Estelle O'Brien

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Pencil drawing -Teddy bears are great companions. They always listen, they never answer back, they are always on your side, they always care for you no matter what you do, and they are very intelligent. They subscibe to the theory that it is better to keep their mouths shut and let people think they are fools than to open them / and prove it. That’s why teddies don’t speak.

  • Shaolin Zombies
    by Ted Kim

    US$3.71–US$98.80

I’ve had this idea floating in my head for a while. Basically, putting kung-fu and zombies together and throw in a tribute to Game of Death and Kill Bill for good measure. Photoshop.

    by Cain Doherty

    US$3.56–US$95.00

This is my partner Rebecca with her back to nature on the summit of Mt Amos in Freycinet National Park, Tasmania . There is a highly strenuous climb to reach this unrivaled view over Wineglass Bay, but as you can see, it is worth all the effort. • Ted Bear
    by shallay

    US$3.42–US$34.20

This was done especially for my sister! She suggested the bear holding a heart to use with her business name, as a logo for selling her wares on e-bay. (She’s a quilter). / - So I’ve deleted the name, and with her kind permission, am using bear bear for RB cards & tees – he looks like a cards & tees kind of guy!

  • Bill & Ted said "Promote Each Other"

Jo stuck her foot out for me to trip over and I landed in a host puddle at Promote Each Other. So, I thought that it was well within my hostly rights to promote Promote Each Other to you :D The premise of Promote Each Other is simple – basically, you join and take advantage of the social blogging and/or book marking resources that you might use every day for promoting other Red Bubble artists. We’re not looking for people who are more concerned with promoting themselves exclusively because we believe that by promoting each other, we will create a flow on effect that will benefit all who sail the good ship Red Bubble. You may not be aware of the crazy Web 2.0 phenomenon that is social media. Here is a handy list that you might like to browse if you’re considering joining the 21st century (I kid!): Bebo / Face Book / Jaiku / Last.fm / LinkedIn / Live Journal / MySpace / Orkut / Plurk / Pownce / Twitter / Vox Then again, you might be a seasoned internets maven with Web 2.0 coming out the wazoo! What we’re after is a bunch of good sorts who love to tag, bookmark and blog their way through the internet; and are committed to raising the profile of their favourite Red Bubble artists. If you think that you’re a most excellent candidate, take a gander here. (Also, if you want to join Plurk and be my friend with minimal effort – use this link. Basically, it earns me “stars” and “karma”. Cool huh!)
