Teazles are popular with flower arrangers, but not this one after a particulary cold night. As the temperature fell the damp in the air clung to the plant head and turned into ice covering the prickly spiney spikes. The ice crystals are lovely close up.

This group of tall teazle heads are covered in pure white ice crystals glistening in the early morning sunshine after a very cold night, they are waiting for the sun to melt their temporary covering of their sharp spikes, waiting perhaps for some enthusiastic flower arranger to take them into the warmth of their home!
