This Nightjar is rarely seen but is relatively common along the entire East Coast of Australia. My neighbour is a volunteer wildlife carer for “WIRES” (Wildlife Information Rescue & Education Service Inc.) here in NSW and looked after this lovely bird when it was found with an injured wing. The carers for WIRES do an amazing job and pay out of their own pocket to feed and support the wildlife they look after. If I can, I would like to help these wonderful people by donating the proceeds of the sale of this card to assist them. For more information about NSW Wildlife Information Rescue & Education Service Inc. please visite their website here WIRES For better viewing See it in ” View larger”.

This was what I woke up to this morning! A fantastic sunrise at Tathra Beach, NSW, Australia (31.03.2008). AS IS, no editing! !
I love Spotted gum forest, Corymbia maculata . This photo was taken within Mimosa Rocks National Park on the Far South Coast of NSW, Australia. This was a dreary, rainy day. Views other images in the Spotted Gum Series

This walk runs through the Melalueca forest Melaleuca armillaris between Tathra and Wallagoot just behind the beach dunes, within Bournda National Park, NSW Far South Coast, AU. My eldest daughter hates going for a walk through here: she thinks its very spooky, what bad dreams are made of! For better viewing click on ‘view larger’.
Sunset over Tathra Beach and Wharf on 29th June 2008. This panorama was made stitching together 4 images. No manipulation of colour has occurred to this image! Mimosa Rocks National Park is in the background. It was a great sunset over a few glasses of ‘red’! For best viewing click on ‘view larger.
On a very early drive northward on the Tathra-Bermagui Rd, I was greeted with this fantastic sunrise near the village of Tanja adjacent to Mimosa Rocks National Park. I captured this image this morning (20.08.2008). For better viewing, click on ‘view larger’
Just trying out my new macro lense this morning in the garden; and very pleased with the result. Canon EOS1000D with 100mm macro. Steve is the Principal Ecologist at EnviroKey, a specialist ecological consultancy that undertakes surveys, research and education programs across Australia.
The Jacky Dragon Amphibolorus muricatus is a great little dragon that is particularly common in the forests and woodlands of the east coast of Australia. This absolute gem was sitting on a log in my front garden, before I stuck my camera in his face! Taken at Tathra on the NSW South Coast.
