Miggy photographed in the style of Vladimir Tretchikoff. If you don’t know who he was you will certainly have seen his work. The painter of the ‘Chinese Girl’ and ‘Balinese Girl’ and other ladies from the Orient and beyond. Prints of his work hang in literally millions of homes throughout the world. He was reputedly the worlds wealthiest artist after Picasso! Miggy was photographed in my front room and the sky was shot with my point and shoot on a trip to the supermarket. The two images were combined to create this single image. A pen you have to touch, just want to pick up and run your fingers along its beading and tassles, just to see what it feels like to write with something so decoratively different

I don’t know the significance of this, but I was struck by the perfection and beauty of it, a typical example of the Japanese approach to their art and surroundings. It was hanging at the Kabuki Theatre entrance and measured a few feet in length.

Ever so often I mass produce crosses. I found a pattern for a crocheted cotton thread bookmark some years ago and have adapted it for string and wool, even wire. I also make it in various sizes. This one is 12” long. | tend to make a lot over Christmas and Easter with a few for funerals, to put on greeting cards or as a present to a Christian anytime of year. I very rarely by materially specially for this. More often than not it’s recycled or left over string or wool. Most are crocheted but I have knitted and macramed a few. More elaborate ones have tassles on
