This giant cotton silk tree has tried to reclaim a portion of the ruins of the Ta Prohm Temple in Cambodia. This is quite a well known tourist site, and is especially popular after a portion of the Tomb Raider movie was shot here. I hope you enjoy the effect I have created in the image. PS I also have a portrait version of this image available as well if anyone is considering making a purchase. I saw this glorious sunrise from the kitchen window while taking my morning coffee. The location is called Tas-Silg, meaning ‘icy place’.

The ancient buddhist temple of Ta Prohm, east of Angkor Thom, Cambodia. This amazing structure was built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries in the Bayon style. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm has been left in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor’s most popular temples with visitors (thanks Wikipedia). This temple was used as a location for filming of the movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. The tree in this shot is, I believe, a silk-cotton tree (Ceiba Pentandra). Please correct me if I’m wrong! That’s me centre-field. I set up the shot then got my wife, Carol, to click the shutter.
