  • I’ve been taking some test shots with my new flash….The Nikon SB800, so nice to use it wirelessly…With this one, taken of our beautiful little 5 year old King Charles Cav / Shihtzu cross, Tammy. I shot the flash through a softbox with a reflector to bounce some light back…I think I’m going to have lots of fun with this flash…thanks for looking and any comments most welcome..

  • 9×12 pastel on Sennelier la carte paper The third addition to The Bird Maiden series. Each maiden reflects the bird in the artwork and Yellow Bird reflects joy and innocence. / I can’t help but be influenced lately by some of my favorite Red Bubblers like Karin Taylor . I just want to draw all their eyes bigger and bigger! Other works in the series

  • 18×24 acrylic on canvas Thought it would be fun to do some goddesses in a kind of pop realism style. This is the Gnostic goddess, the feminine half of God and the mind of God, or the Divine Wisdom. Red Bubble homepage 10-6-09 close up of Sophia: / Check her out on a red tee:

  • ..this lil’ design remindz me of a Tartan ‘Tammy’ (Cap) my Scottish blood-lol! O’er the sea to Sky .A tam o’shanter is a Scottish bonnet worn by men which was named after the character Tam o’ Shanter in the poem of that name by Robert Burns. The bonnet is made of wool with a toorie (pompon) in the centre, and the crown is about twice the diameter of the head. Originally they were only made in blue because of the lack of chemical dyes, and were called “blue bonnets”. They are now available in plain colors or in different tartans. .....

  • 18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul. Medium sized framed print Greeting Card T-shirt

  • 9×12 pastel on Sennelier paper Just a quick little sketch I did for fun at the expense of our dear, sweet Linaji. When Linaji requested I do a Kali I don’t think this is exactly what she had in mind. When I saw the picture she posted of herself chowing down on that dog I just couldn’t resist. I hope she doesn’t employ the wrath of Kali upon me for doing this!

  • 9×12 pastel on Sennelier La Carte paper FEATURED IN “MYTHS. LEGENDS, AND FAIRYTALES”, “INSPIRED ART”, “THE DIVINE FEMININE”, AND “DREAM AND FANTASY ART” GROUPS. This is my entry into the Jessica Walker challenge in Bubbler Portraits. I used Jessica’s self portrait Ice Queen as a reference. / When I saw Jessica’s portrait I thought of the White Witch in Narnia. I wanted to do this as a big acrylic painting, but got anxious to do it….and so it’s pastel. Maybe I will paint it someday. Laminated Print / Medium sized framed print /

  • 9×12 mixed media (ink, blue Sharpie, graphite) on Strathmore drawing paper. This is my first attempt at ink, well besides doodles on the back of envelopes. Barbara Glatzeder was bragging to me about how cheap this medium is, and that it doesn’t take up any space in your house. She keeps all of her work in one binder. So I got jealous! / So I found a pen and did this. I kind of think it looks like one gigantic doodle. Maybe a little too busy, but I think I will try the ink again. Small sized framed print /

  • 9×12 ink and watercolor on watercolor paper Just for fun. Laminated Print

  • 9×12 watercolor and colored pencil on watercolor paper This is another piece inspired by a Led Zeppelin song, Going to California. Particularly the lines “someone told me there’s a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair”. And then there is that purely esoteric line “Children of the sun begin to awake.” / The ancient Incans called themselves The Children of the Sun. They had legends of a white bearded man that came from ancient Lemuria and brought to them the great spiritual knowledge of Lemuria. Many believe that it is the souls of Lemuria that are awaking now(The Children of the Sun) and are bringing us into the New Age of Peace and Enlightenment. I wonder if Plant knew all this when he wrote those lyrics.

  • 18×24 acrylic on canvas Just started to paint and she appeared. I really don’t know how people can work on one painting for months on end. This took me almost a week and I was getting impatient. It was the painting that would never end, and I might still go paint on her some more…... Medium sized framed print / Greeting Card /

  • 9×12 pastel on Sennelier paper As humans we are always taking the spoils of nature without sharing or giving back to nature, but a fae should know better.

  • Vectorized photo-manipulation with texture layers. The notion that five is a boring number obviously is a misconception :-))

  • 9×12 pastel on Sennelier paper This is dedicated to all my sisters on Red Bubble. I am eternally grateful for your gentle wisdom, divine intuition, and massive sense of humor. You all walk the path of the Wise Women, and I am so lucky to get to follow behind you.

  • 9×12 pencil on Strathmore drawing paper This is just a quick sketch I did to study the basic “Jane Morris face style”. Jane Morris was the embodiement of beauty to many of the Pre-Raphaelites including Dante Gabriel Rossetti and her husband William Morris. / I am very intrigued by Jane Morris. In real life pictures of her she is not quite the beauty that Rossetti painted, but still very unique. She was tall and lanky at a time period where curvaceous was the standard and she was bordering on masculine. What did Morris and Rosetti see in her that would later define the Pre-Raphaelite look? / Many of you have probably read that study that stated women are attracted to more masculine looking men when they are ovulating, and more feminine looking men at other times in their monthly cycle. Men tend to always see women from a primal view. In general, our standard of beauty is dictated by our hormones and our primal need to procreate. But I think the Pre-Raphaelites saw something beyond primal in Jane Morris. / Her features, although tending more towards the feminine, are bordering on the androgynous. She is almost a perfect balance of the masculine and feminine. To me, she has the face of what I imagine the angels to have; more feminine but also very masculine. She therefore represents a spiritual ideal, a perfect balance of the divine feminine and the divine masculine. I think this is what captivated the Pre-Raphaelites, and what is still captivating us today.

  • 9×12 soft pastel on Sennelier la carte paper. Trying to get my creative mojo flowing again by returning to my first love….faeries! See also / “The Rose Faerie” / “The Willow Faerie” /

  • 16×20 acrylic on canvas panel Kim Turner put a link to Enchanted doll awhile back on one of her works, and opened a can of worms for me. I am in love with these dolls and want to paint them all. The face in this is highly influenced by one of Marina’s dolls. Everything else just happened and when I realized I would have her finished on this powerful 11:11 I knew she carried that energy Featured in / Gatekeeper Detail /

  • 12×16 acrylic on canvas I couldn’t help it, I had to paint one more enchanted doll. Here is the original inspiration. And here is the lovely reference for the barn owl.

  • 22×28 acrylic on canvas I listened to a lot the Iron and Wine while painting this one. I think it kind of took on the vibration of the music. / For more on the symbolism and my thoughts behind this one please vist my blog
