Stock Photo Credit: / Model / Background Also used various Photoshop brushes and filters to create lightning, rain and light Once again I was delighted to be Bubblemailed by another fantastic poet, who brought my attention to a poem she had wrote that made her think of this piece of art.* Storm by binjy accompanies this artwork beautifully: Storm With clouds boiling fiercely in soft cloaks of grey, / and the light of the gods in the sky- / I bared my soul to the force of the night, / and wished the past year goodbye. A turbulent year, reflected by storm , / with power, excitement and pain. / With coolness refreshing, like breezes in summer. / With tears like the sweet fall of rain. The winds carrying scents of some interesting place, / bring sand grains to prickle the skin of my face. / So has the year gone. The exquisite pleasure, / shining like lightning; a transient treasure, / now lost in the grey cloak’ed clouds.

  • Cauldron Snout, HDR.
    by TallGuy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

This was one of the first waterfall photo’s that I used HDR on. It was a really black and miserable day, looking at the photo’s before converting to hdr they lacked detail or any sense of the mood of the day. Once converted the mood really showed as did the power of the surge of water down the falls… this was the time I decided there was a place for hdr, done subtly it can be realistic, done over the top it becomes a work of art. • Gorch Fock II
    by Colin Tobin

    US$3.95–US$105.49

The Gorch Fock II is a Greman Naval tall ship used for training cadets. The Gorch Fock II has been in continuous service as a school ship for the German Navy since 1958. More than 11,000 cadets have been trained on the Gorch Fock in that time. The Gorch Fock II docked in St. John’s, Newfoundland for a couple of days back in August. The radial blur effect was created by twisting the zoom and the camera in opposite directions while I pressed the shutter down. / / ..................................... / Click here to add me to your watch list. / .....................................

  • The Sydney Heritage Fleet brought the 3 masted, steel hulled James Craig to dock at historical Williamstown. Built in 1874, it carried cargo around the world, until it was abandoned in favor of the steam revolution and sunk in 1932. Restored in 1972.

  • Castlerigg Stone Circle.
    by TallGuy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Ok.. it’s only part of the stone circle.. to be quite honest I’m pleased to have this photo. For me it seemed to be one of those days, nothing seemed right photowise. It was another enjoyable meet with Robert Hardy, I’m guessing and hoping his shots turned out better than mine :-) The Extract below was taken from Wikipedia… Wilkipedia “The stones are of a local metamorphic slate, set in a flattened circle, measuring 32.6m (107ft) at its widest and 29.5m (97ft) at its narrowest. The heaviest stone has been estimated to weigh around 16 tons and the tallest stone measures approximately 2.3m high. There is a 3.3m wide gap in its northern edge, which may have been an entrance. Within the circle, abutting its eastern quadrant, is a roughly rectangular setting of a further 10 stones. The circle was probably constructed around 3200 BC (Late Neolithic/Early Bronze-Age), making it one of the earliest stone circles in Britain and possibly Europe, too. It is important to archaeoastronomers who have noted that the sunrise during the Autumn equinox appears over the top of Threlkeld Knott, a hill 3.5km to the east. Some stones in the circle have been aligned with the midwinter sunrise and various lunar positions.” MY OLD STANDING STONES SET

  • This is one of two copies of an older painting of mine and I completed them last week. When I say copies, maybe I mean variations (you be the judge). My sister-in-law admired my original painting and so did the lady who is organising my exhibition this year. My wife also admired it. I wanted them all to be happy, so I decided to get my watercolours out and do the painting again … and again. The exhibition lady got the original and my sister in law one of the new versions. I am happy, because I corrected a perspective problem I’d noticed. Just thought I’d let you all have a look.

“Taking food alone tends to make one hard and coarse. Those accustomed to it must lead a Spartan life if they are not to go downhill. Hermits have observed, if for only this reason, a frugal diet. For it is only in company that eating is done justice; food must be divided and distributed if it is to be well received.” Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) Some groups that you may want to visit and join: / AW Welcome Center / EF Welcome Center / Globes, Spheres and Curves / DaDa Land / Boolean Art / Fantasy Art / Human and Nature / Light and Reflections / Disclaimer

  • Magic Circle.
    by TallGuy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

You have to ask why I titled it magic circle, I don’t think I took one shot of the whole stone circle. Sunset or sunrise is what adds the magic.. if only I could manage to get up early enough to capture the sunrises. The Extract below was taken from Wikipedia… Wilkipedia “The stones are of a local metamorphic slate, set in a flattened circle, measuring 32.6m (107ft) at its widest and 29.5m (97ft) at its narrowest.
