This piece was inspired by words my sister spoke after losing her husband in an unexpected work accident last week. She was left with three children and he was a wonderful, unselfish and patient man. We will all miss him greatly. Words escape me when I try to comfort her and when someone offers to be there to talk, that has been her response. / The image came to me and had to be let out, though I don’t think it quite captures the grief well enough. Usually sketching in ink like this is cattartic for me, not having to be percise and each line making a point. Sometimes there are just too many lines to draw.
