  • This is in a way, a self portrait (I am the person on the left). But it’s more of a self portrait that describes my feelings, rather than my appearance. The guy on the right is my best mate, and the girl next to him is our flatmate. The photo was taken on Caldy Island, near Tenby, West Wales. During our visit to Caldy Island, I lit a candle in one of the gorgeous churches there and prayed for a friend who was dying of cancer. When i returned home, her “cancer-levels” had decreased and she was feeling a lot better. Sadly, 7 months later, Margaret did finally close her beautiful eyes.

  • One of my earliest pieces

  • Taken after a night of passion…

  • This is a friend of mine, Vanessa, she has an AWESOME singing voice!! She often dedicates a song to me when i see her play (as it’s not very often I get the opportunity!)...and it’s usually “Mars”. I love that song. ...So now i’m dedicating this to her…

  • I took this on the Rhigos mountain, South Wales, from the back of my mam’s car on the way home from a family holiday. Taken with a mobile phone camera (!) (5 megapixels…i think). I cropped the image so that it had a natural frame with centred sunset, then enriched the colours using the warming functions of Picasa. Used as the group Avatar for Wales, Rich in Beauty!

  • This is a photo of my best friend taken in Saundersfoot, West Wales during my first year at University. It’s quite a nostalgic picture for me…time goes too fast, things change, we change… (C) drjones

  • The Paris Blues was captured whilst on a weekend away for my best mates 21st birthday. I love Paris, it’s an amazing city! I first added a black and white effect, then warmed the image, then cooled it with another function. There is slight adjustment of highlights, contrast, sharpness and light fill.

  • Taken on Bondi beach, Sydney. I believe I used a Canon 10mp camera for this shot, though i’m not 100% sure. For the effect, I played around with the selective colour options in PS CS3 until i came up with something warm and golden but with a hint of dramatic atmosphere. The guy waxing his board seemed to do it with such passion and care…but I was just thinking…”Mate, you’re missing some awesome waves!” That’s why I had to call this one ‘The Perfectionist’. I’m sure all that waxing payed off though. This is my first real attempt at using PS. I adjusted this image over and over and over…and to be honest, I think i prefer the original! Anyway…here it is…until i try again…

  • The fantasy behind this is based on The Mabinogi- a famous Welsh legend. Arawn is the King of Annwn, who appears in the first of the four branches of The Mabinogi. This is how I imagine his kingdom- both glorious and apocalyptic. (The photograph was taken in Milan, and altered using PS CS3).

  • Arms forced behind the back, body exposed. Confronting my shame…I can hide from others, but not myself.

  • The Nine Pillars- an addition to Arawn’s Realm. The gates of Annwn open to few who find them…unto the glorious corridors of this place. This piece was actually inspired by a self-hypnosis programme called The Nine Pillars. My gran, after a heart attack, began to suffer depression and panic attacks. For months she remained in the same state, until she discovered The Nine Pillars. Literally within 2 or 3 weeks my old gran was back :-) I’d missed her!!

  • A ceiling of a corridor in the Vatican City, Rome…and this was just the corridor…

  • Taken in December 2007, London

  • Self-portrait. This particular day i was feeling very insecure about my body…so much so that the jeans stayed on…but i wanted to get naked… (Sold group- sold a mounted print of this)
