Sunset from Kings Tablelands, Wentworth Falls
Falls shot in the Atherton Tablelands – Far North Tropical Queensland. / I was dissapointed in not being able to get to the base of these falls but the recent cyclone had brought down lots of trees in the area closing the track off. Another one to go back to…many beautiful waterfalls in this region.
This shot was taken in the Atherton Tablelands, West of Cairns. Elinjaa Falls, one of the waterfalls on the Tablelands Waterfall Circuit. / This was pre-cyclone Larry. Went back there shortly after and it was all branches, logs and … well not as attractive! I believe it’s back to it’s original state now, so will return soon as it’s a special spot. Palmerston National Park. / These falls (Milla Milla) in the Atherton Tablelands of Cairns have been photographed to death, but I ‘think’ this is a foreground not used yet. / My patience was tested waiting for a moment where both the sun disappeared enough, along with the hoards of tourists (well, most anyway!)...but I eventually got that minute after about 2.5 hours. / All comments & views muchly appreciated. / Regards, / Matt Also from this series: / Mungalli Magic / Elinjaa Bliss /
This pine forest really felt very primeval today with a super growth of lichen on the trees, and the mist rolling in. I liked the contrast that the fresh fern provided in this image. Early this morning I decided to drive about an hour into the Blue Mountains to go for a bit of bushwalking and to check out the lookouts around the Wentworth Falls area. / However the weather was terrible, with it basically being a whiteout with visibility down to about 20m and constant drizzling rain, so not the best weather for lookouts and photography! / I decided to head over to King’s Tableland and have a look at McMahon’s Lookout which is down the end of a 20km dirt track, however half way down the road I decided to capture the view in front of me which consisted of the road and trees disappearing into the thick mist. / I will have to head back up on a clearer day! / Photo taken with barely any post processing, just exposure, black point and levels.. / Thanks for having a look, as always comments and critiquing are most welcome.. Taken on the way to McMahons Lookout, Wentworth Falls (Blue Mountains, Australia) in April 2008. The entire pine forest was lichen-covered … I felt this fallen tree made a wonderful natural sculpture. The Blue Mountains are World Heritage listed – while people visit The Three Sisters and the more popular falls and lookouts in their tens of thousands, this area down Kings Tableland Road is relatively untouched and well worth a visit / Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM / /
The majestic Barron Falls, Kuranda, Far North Queensland. / Taken late this afternoon as the sun was disappearing below the rainforest. Only a trickle during this part of the dry season, but always a great view. Cheers, / Matt

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Ebor Falls Ebor Falls, New England National Park, New England Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. Ebor is a small country town of approximately 100 people, 45 minutes east of Armidale on the Waterfall Way and 1.5 hours west from the coast high on the New England Tablelands. Just a few minutes walk from Ebor are the Ebor Falls. The Guy Fawkes River meanders along the edge of the township of Ebor and drops over Ebor Falls, a columned basalt rock of 115 metres. The falls are most spectacular after recent rainfall in the catchment area. Although not very high, the two part fall presents the visitor with some great views and some interesting walks. While camping at Lake Tinaroo on the Atherton Tablelands in QueensIand, Australia I would roll over early in the morning and look out my tent (almost) every day to check out what the sky was doing.. This one was definitely worth getting out of bed early for! HDR Pano Featured in Nirvana group / Thanks!

After 220 years of land clearing across Australia and degradation of remaining woodlands and forests, many trees are suffering dieback and there are little signs of regeneration;the result, dead trees…........ Given a stunning sunset to work with last week in the Southern Tablelands, this dead tree caught my eye and made a perfect subject to tell this story. The tree I believe is a Ribbon Gum, Eucalyptus viminalis considering the other trees nearby. Steve is the Principal Ecologist at EnviroKey providing specialist ecological services across Australia.

Amidst Queensland’s central highlands is a magical place that has increased in popularity immensly in recent years – Carnarvon NP. Having been to the area many times over the last 15yrs I have seen it change and I opted for one of the less popular trails to start the day. This pre-dawn 3-4km walk up the 963 odd steps and steel ladders without a soul to be seen or heard was worth the experience of watching this magic start to the day. view this image large bubblesite / photography blog / portfolio ©T.Middleton2009 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——
