  • Don’t listen to them.

  • Telepathy, the direct transmission of thoughts from one person to another, is a fun psychic skill to practice. It’s is something we can practice, well, this is my telepathy-communication-messaging-system, How it works, put both your hand on the hands in the picture, think of the loved one you would like to send a message to, consentrate, meditate, and press enter, and there your message will fly in a letter form to the person on the recieving end. Try it it really works. In short this would be called TCMS a more advanced method than SMS. /

It was March 2005, somewhere near St Kilda....

It was March 2005, somewhere near St Kilda. I was sitting in a room, on a sofa propped on milk crates, staring at the ceiling. Around my neck was a Philadelphia collar and in my hand was a bottle of gin. The collar was the only sign that I had recently broken my C1, 2 & T1 the gin was to stop me thinking about it. I was staring at the ceiling because it was reasonably tricky to stare anywhere else. I sat quietly contemplating my future. Next to me was a chap called Christopher Lansell, Crispy to his comrades, whom I’d known about 8 minutes. He started talking about some things, wild, imaginative things, I started to reply, and back he came with more, this went on quite successfully for a while. One of these crazy things was an idea he’d been playing with to install a 1:1 billion scale model of the Solar System somewhere in Melbourne. It seemed quite a good idea to me. Almost without any warning at all it was 9am on December 10 of that year, my return ticket to the UK forgotten in the back of a drawer somewhere, and 6 months out of date, my neck visible to all who cared to glance. I’m crouched at the door to our St Kilda studio, attempting to drill a hole into Pluto, except this Pluto is only 2mm in diametre, which makes it very tricky. And in half an hour it’s meant to be on a plinth somewhere near Port Melbourne. / / / / Building the Sun Having drummed up some media interest through an interview on ABC radio and an article in The Age and spent a few months constructing the Sun and nine planets by hand we were actually within minutes of taking our disjointed conversation live. / / / / / Painting the Planets / Planet bases Pluto / Mars / Neptune / Saturn / Jupiter / Having finally secured Pluto to it’s stand, we threw all the models in the back of a trailer and hightailed it to the beach, as we roared along the approach to the marina there was a sudden, and slightly sickening crunch. Crispy braked, we looked at each other in silent fear, then out through the back window of the Toyota. Rolling down the road in the vague direction of Acland Street was a 1.39m golden ball of plywood and satin. Hmmm. We exited the car at speed and, to the amusement of the residents, sprinted off after the star. It was not entirely unscathed, but it was still presentable, and anyway, we were out of time. The weekend was long and disgustingly hot, but the model was a success, large numbers of families turned up on their bikes, with their children, The Age article folded in their pockets, planning to ride the full 6km route to Pluto. And being mid summer the beach and passing traffic was plentiful. Seeing kids stand under the 1.28cm hand painted sphere that was Earth (I even managed to dust the Himalayas with some snow) and point out Australia before running 150m to the Sun and smacking it with their ice cream stained hands was quite rewarding. / Earth, a man with a beard & the Moon, which is as far as Man has ever actually travelled, allegedly. (But not the man with the beard, he may have been no further than Geelong, I don’t know) Mars / The Sun / / / By Sunday night we were knackered but content. Then things started getting interesting. Tony Wheeler, co-founder of Lonely Planet rang us up, said he’d heard about the project but had been out of the country and wondered if he could come and see the models, we, unsurprisingly said yes. Then the council rang us up and said they’d had a lot of calls from the general public asking when they were going to do the project again. They said they hadn’t done it in the first place. It was about this point that words like ‘permanent’ began to appear in conversations. We found a sculptor, Cameron Robbins, an eccentric and extremely talented man based in Collingwood, and commenced talks with the council. It was estimated at costing around $70,000, and so the tedious process of money raising became the focus, Tony pledged a large sum of his personal finances, as did some universities. Things looked good. Then the university pulled out, and we experienced our first wedge of bureaucratic council red tape. Things look bad. And that high and low was a microcosm of how it progressed for the next two years. With a hefty focus on the ‘This is just never going to happen’ line of thought. But now, three years and six months after a conversation on a sofa in St Kilda, there are some people down at the foreshore tidying up the metre high bluestone plinths the planets rest on, and no doubt someone polishing the 360kg of bronze that makes up the Sun, in preparation for the opening on September 21. And I’m going to miss it, because I’m in London, so if you have nothing better to do please pop down to the reserve north of the Marina at 4.45, take some photos, get yourself an epic sense of how fragile and unique Earth really is and give Crispy some support for the endless phone calls and meetings and rolls and rolls of tape he’s deftly sliced through. Pouring the bronze Planets / Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus cooling off / Half of the Sun / All of the Sun / Polishing the Sun / The sculptor Cameron Robbins next to polished Sun / Saturn / Venus, Mars, Earth, Mercury & Pluto (yeah it’s not a planet anymore, but it was then) / Pouring concrete base for the Sun / Diamond saw cutting bluestone plinths for the planets / Plinths being lifted into place / / The Sun being moved into place / / / / Model Location / And if you ever see anyone chasing an enormous shining sphere down a road, go and give them a hand.

  • Oh, to explore the lands beyond the painted sea, maybe some day, when the radiation is no longer so high. But only 6 centuries have passed since the end of the ” war to end all wars”and it is said in the counsels of the Humafins, that 10,000 years must pass before the lands are safe. Still, I can dream as I sit back on my tail before returning to the painted seas of Mother Earth.

  • As I made my ( transitional ) drive from my future back to my past today, I listened to the Alien sounds of the album Oxygene. / From the master himself, Jean Michel Jarre. It is a sound for Earthly ears, with a message from the cosmos, to me its about the search for a new home on another world by a race that as destroyed the one they were given. The search is long and time passes slowly, the new worlds must have the thing we as a species need “Oxygene” / So their search across space may go on for eternity, for they say ” you can never go home again”. / And even when you find that other world, it still is not “home”. So I suppose MY message is…........... ’ Think about what we as a race are doing to our home world, do we really want to have to travel the stars for all eternity, searching for something we already have?................think! I wanted to create an image of what their home world was like before its destruction. So I created this one and called it “Oxygene”

  • The Trader vessel “Sibelius” above a city of the Others, in Galaxy 6. / A dead city covered with dust, just waiting to be explored. I must explain how they got here…....... The Grantrisss are a inquisitive race, but not very intelligent, they travel the cosmos picking up floatsome & jetsome, things long discarded by other races. They study what they find and then sell it at the Galactic Recycling Depot on Grayling V. But some things were worth keeping, one such item was an antique pottery jug, it was also sealed with a tech ring of unknown origin. Having tried over many years to decode the symbols and so find the password, they finally gave up, still it was an intriguing item, not something to throw away. It was eventually sold to a human Trader for 500 credits, the Traders and their families of course live in space on their vessels. This Trader had bought this jug for his daughters 10th birthday, that day arrived and she was presented with the jug, she lifted it out of the box and as soon as she touched it, dropped it and the top broke off. Within an instant a hollo of a man emanated from the jug, it was a message asking for assistance, from a planet in Galaxy 6. / Everyone knew Galaxy 6 was a fantasy,a myth, no being had ever found or visited it. Legends said that within that space there was a nebula filled with treasures. / Still, it was a myth, not real, but the message did say whoever answered would be rewarded handsomely. / Plus there was a chart. It was worth exploring.

  • The Berlin U-Bahn is a rapid transit railway in Berlin, Germany, and is a major part of the public transport system of the capital. Opened in 1902, the U-Bahn serves 170 stations (station at this photo is called Potsdamer Platz) spread across nine lines, with a total track length of 151.7 kilometres (94.3 mi), about 80% of which is underground. Trains run every two to five minutes during peak hours, every five minutes for the rest of the day and every ten minutes in the evening and on sunday. They travel 132 million km (83 million mi), carrying 400 million passengers, over the year. The entire system is maintained and operated by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, commonly known as the BVG. Designed to alleviate traffic flowing into and out of central Berlin, the U-Bahn rapidly expanded until the city was divided into East and West Berlin at the end of World War II. Although the system initially remained open to residents of both sides, the construction of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent restrictions imposed by the East German government limited travel across the border: The East Berlin U-Bahn lines were severed from West Berlin; while two West Berlin lines that ran through East Berlin were allowed to pass through without stopping, although the stations were closed, with the exception of Friedrichstraße, used as a transfer point and a border crossing into East Berlin. The system was reopened completely following the fall of the Berlin Wall, and German reunification. As of 2007, the Berlin U-Bahn is the most extensive underground network in Germany. True to its original goal, it has been calculated that, in 2006, use of the U-Bahn amounted to the equivalent of 122.2 million km (76 million mi) of car journeys.

Hi everyone, Well, we spent a long day in th…

Hi everyone, Well, we spent a long day in the studio today hanging paintings and it’s so satisfying to finally have this all done now. It feels great, more spacious and more like a real gallery. We’ve had the hanging system lying on the floor of the studio for well over a year now, and never got round to actually putting it up, so I thought I’d share a couple of pics with you guys!! I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it before, but I have lots of original paintings for sale, if anyone is ever interested in the original work, give me a yell and we can talk turkey :) I have lots and lots that are unframed too and you can’t see ‘em here .. so let me know if you see something you like in my portfolio and would like the original

  • In the Litr system lies a planet called Morragg, here in the southern hemisphire is the Sea of Dread. / Many have sailed these waters, but none have ever returned. Legends say that if a being can sail across it and return, they will be given wealth beyond their wildest dreams plus they will own this world outright. / And only then will the protectiive shield be lifted. / Put here by a race of beings yet unknown, the shield allows no machinery or technology to work below 10,000 feet, not even transpobeams, when the planet was discovered a probe was located in low orbit, after translation it explained in great detail what would happen to any ship decending lower. / I guess a fair number of beings just didn’t believe, for there are hundreds of wrecked craft strewn across this world after loosing all power below the shield. / Really the only way to land is by way of gliders or balloons.

  • Banished from the Alliance Worlds millennia ago, and after untold centuries of living among the stars, members of the cult founded their order & temple on a small moon orbiting the ice planet Toras. / This system lies in a dark outer arm of the Andromeda Galaxy, and as three planets. / The cult was formed on the belief that the only way to bring about galactic peace and brotherhood, was to rid the worlds of all humans. A little extreme to say the least, and not something the rest of humanity could really get into. / So after the Sanarrans brought about genocide on a number of worlds, the cult was banished and forgotten. But will we hear from them again…...............who knows

  • On Queeblus Graino in the Stellis system lies the forbidding coast known as the Teeth of the Dragon. / Over the centuries untold numbers of vessels have been lost along this shore. But it is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands. It can be found at the western edge of the Sargarus Sea, the Teeth have to be navigated to reach the spaceport at Rivers Mouth. / Most of the planet is a no fly zone , so sailing vessels are the only form of transpotation. A great many river pilots will tell you they know the waters here, but unless they bear the Guild of Pilots Scarass Seal on there foreheads it would bode you well not to trust them with your ship and your life. / But many captains wanting to save credits have found the Teeth of the Dragon to be their final resting place. And of course a great salvage industry as sprung up along this coast which stretches for 4,000 leagues or in modern measurement 12,000 miles.

  • Here in camp the days heat as given way a much colder night. / And sitting here before a blazing fire we get to see the buttes we climbed today, set against a sinking sun and hopefully the storm clouds will pass us by.

  • I found it, I found it, its that special place where both space & time are warped. / This is the city where its possible to witness both sunrise and set at the same time. Its Curved Space… Personally, I think its really a state of mind, but if your a “Rocky Horror” fan this is the city for you. / It may be something in the grass, it may be something in the air, / it may be som…......who cares! So sing along folks…... It’s astounding; / Time is fleeting; / Madness takes its toll. / But listen closely… Not for very much longer. I’ve got to keep control. I remember doing the time-warp / Drinking those moments when / The Blackness would hit me And the void would be calling… Let’s do the time-warp again. / Let’s do the time-warp again. It’s just a jump to the left. And then a step to the right. Put your hands on your hips. You bring your knees in tight. / But it’s the pelvic thrust / That really drives you insane. / Let’s do the time-warp again. / Let’s do the time-warp again. It’s so dreamy, oh fantasy free me. / So you can’t see me, no, not at all. / In another dimension, with / voyeuristic intention, / Well secluded, I see all. With a bit of a mind flip You’re into the time slip. And nothing can ever be the same. You’re spaced out on sensation. Like you’re under sedation. Let’s do the time-warp again. / Let’s do the time-warp again. Well I was walking down the street / just a-having a think / When a snake of a guy gave me an / evil wink. / He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise. / He had a pickup truck, and the / devil’s eyes. / He stared at me and I felt a change. / Time meant nothing, never would again. Let’s do the time-warp again. / Let’s do the time-warp again. It’s just a jump to the left. And then a step to the right. Put your hands on your hips. You bring your knees in tight. / But it’s the pelvic thrust / That really drives you insane. / Let’s do the time-warp again. / Let’s do the time-warp again. I must have sucked in too much VOG in Hawaii.
