Intended as a companion shot to the “Sydney Harbour Bridge (Int)” shot, I really wanted a second photo of the Sydney Harbour Bridge that wasn’t a standard-style one. The Harbour Bridge Pylons are the focus here, and the thing about them is that they’re actually purely decorative – they serve no engineering or structural purpose at all. (or so the tourist literature tells me!)

A symmetrical reflection of part of the Cairn Gorm mountain-range in the perfectly still water of Loch Morlich, taken seconds before the rain-clouds came across and disturbed the loch surface. Taken on the Hasselblad using Lucky black and white film.
The view from Friar’s Crag along Derwentwater towards Borrowdale, early one October morning (about 7.45am); a perfectly still symmetrical reflection of pink sunrise, part of Catbells and an island in the lake. Taken on the Shen-Hao large-format camera with Fuji Velvia (RVP) film. ...and then I strolled back to the b&b for breakfast, eyes twinkling, feeling like prehistoric wild-man returning to civilisation :)

Hey! It’s that Eifel-ly Tower-y thing (I forget what it’s called). I know, I know, there are millions of photos of this place taken (probably) weekly. But here’s mine, for the record!
Loweswater Lake in the Lake District in Cumbria. It was such a beautiful day with loads of great photo opportunities for reflection shots!

July 2007 / Acrylic on canvas, 8” x 10” This pattern is inspired by traditional and modern celtic knotwork designs, based on the meditation wheels used as an aid to concentration and relaxation. Following the pattern with your eyes provides a soothing focus for meditation and breathing exercises. A mirror image of an earlier posting of Infinity Bridge I thought because the bridge is called “Infinity” and the fact that I don’t use auto focus when doing night work but tend to set the lens to Infinity, it seemed rather appropriate to use the title “Mathematical Infinity” to describe this manipulated image due to the symbol and the mirror image which the manipulation creates.
