A collaboration with Rosalie Dale (my mum!), Misty Morning was perfect for my Avalon series, I think it works perfectly for the beginning of the story… The sword in the stone – where it all began for the boy who would become King Arthur. Born at Tintagel to King Uther Pendragon and the lady Igraine but sent away to serve as a helper in another castle, the boy who would grow up to become King Arthur was raised unaware of his parents’ status. He was a natural leader, a good fighter, and was always scrupulously fair, yet modest and unassuming. One day, a mysterious magician named Merlin announced that in the woods lay a stone with a sword thrust deep into its center. He promised that whichever man could draw the sword from the stone would be crowned the next king of Britain. Men came from all over the land to try their luck with the sword in the stone. Everyone from the knights to the blacksmiths, from lords to peasant children, tried to extricate the sword. None could. Finally, young Arthur was persuaded to try. Feeling foolish, he approached the stone, shaking his head—for why should he be able to pull out the sword, when the strongest of men had failed? But to his surprise and amazement (and to everyone else’s, certainly), as he grasped the pommel of the sword, he pulled it smoothly from the stone. This young unknown boy was to be the next king! Merlin came forward and congratulated the stunned Arthur, and that is where the story of King Arthur all began—with a sword in a stone. I got really bored for a bit this afternoon, had a fleeting thought, then played around. I’m not really sure how I feel about this one yet. I gave it an almosted painted feel to it, you can’t really see the detail in the previews here that you can full size. Oh, yeah, forgot, yep that’s me. / (I just wanted to see myself on a card…) This piece was featured in the Live, Love, Dream group. THANK YOU!! “

Pirates Versus Ninjas – where it all began. / ... / I was wondering if this reference was too obscure, but then my brother walked past and exclaimed, “Cool! Ninja paramecium!” and I knew my work was done. / ... / P.S. I spent an hour drawing the gun that would be thrust through the pirate’s belt. / Just when I had proudly adjusted it into place, a helpful passer-by remarked that the gun I had drawn was actually a derringer and not suited to the era* (a derringer is more of a Wild West gun). / ... / After I had finished disposing of his body, I then spent another hour drawing an old-fashioned pistol, which ended up in the final picture. / ... / See here for the difference. / ... / * Surprisingly, he had no problem with the concept of unicellular organisms wearing clothes. / ... / Which side would YOU be on? Pirate, or ninja?

Looks like I am into a sort of Japanese period ore something. / You know like Picasso and his blue period (no comparison though). / But I am positive thickblackoutline and her fantasy world has got something to do with it. / Even though I must admit I find samurai dead cool. / Maybe that’s the reason I keep returning to these eastern sword fighters again and again. / Anyhow this time around I must say I am very pleased with the way it turned out. / I managed to keep it down to a minimum with the details. / Just the most necessary to indicate what needed indicating, the rest is left to the relief…. / Enjoy my friends. POS / Laminated print / Poster / Framed print (black frame) Watch the big version

The dark elf rested on the rock face, taking the moment to wipe the last trace of blood from her blade. The dull light made her eyes ache, and she wished again that she was miles underground… Thanks to Kym Breeze for being an awesome sport and coming out with me for the day for a fantasy-themed photo session! She was a great model, not too demanding LOL!

So the expression goes! In the world we live in, more people especially those in advertising, government and those in roles as religious leaders need to remind people of this and try to make the world a better and more peaceful place. Part 2 in a series.
