The Tire Swing

I wrote this song after my little nephew came to me with a toy cell phone a couple years ago, wondering why it didn’t make any noises or light up. I told him “you’ve got to use your imagination” / He stood there giving me a blank stare. It was then that I realized how imagination has become a lost art to many. I recalled how as a child I had enjoyed the tire swing in our front yard. I grabbed a pen and a scrap of paper and quickly jotted down this poem which I named “The Tire Swing”.
