Aerial view of an outdoor suburban pool in the height of summer.
...the start of a women’s triathlon earlier this year here in Geelong
Now for something completely different. An oldie but a goldie from the analouge vaults of a mama swimming in a rock pool down Coogee way. This is a straight b/w film capture with no tricky stuff done to it. It is as it was when I snapped it. I’ve always been taken with this matronly look possibly because I’ve always been a bit on the bony side but maybe because the woman in this picture looks like a mama. I love her to bits.

(Uploaded especially for my new friend Mike Scholl. You must check out his work – brilliant!) 75×100 x 3.8cm Acrylic on Canvas. There is an exhibition coming up and I have been asked to submit 8 pieces of figurative work. I thought I had completed this last September but it’s just bugged me! Anyway last week I decided to work on it again. So, originally we had this (rather unattractive boring red head) / / and with a few alterations we now have this much more friendly gal.
Model and Bestfriend :p
Acrylic on stretched canvas 10 inch x 10 inch Original SOLD I was painting this yesterday when there was snow falling outside. Guess I wanted to think about summer and warmth. This has a very British seaside feel to it. I remember trips to the seaside when I was a child. Metal painted buckets with jolly seaside scenes on them, metal spades with wooden dowel handles…packets of paper flags to pop into those sandcastles. Why did the egg sandwiches always get sand in them? / Anyway this lady here seems to have quite a bit of her own buoyancy.
