  • A black and white version of one of the sculptures at the Swell Sculpture Exhibition on Currumbin Beach, the Gold Coast, 2006

  • so windy!

  • This is another shot from the Newcastle Sea Baths series during huge sorms and freak waves. The enormous seas rolled in with thunderous power dwarfing the small sea baths that sits on the oceans edge.

  • Lunan Bay on a beautiful autumn day.

  • The cliffs above Shelly Beach, Sydney…...

  • Taken today (20th January 08) whilst on a cruise around the Tasman Peninsula on the way to Tasman Island. If you want to see the REAL Tasmania I can’t recommend enough experiencing this part of the coastline. Whilst I took this image I was being buffeted by 50knot winds. All part of the experience!

  • This is an acrylic on canvas I painted quite a few years ago.

  • Wilma Britz studied Graphic Design at Stellenbosch University at the same time as other luminarys such as Peter Van Straten. Wilma creates beautifully illustrated three dimensional collages of fantasy worlds. / Her inspiration comes from glimpses of memory and Iconic images that captivate an air of lightness combined with ‘cut and paste’ brilliance!

  • Hurricane Ike was passing way to the south of Bermuda today, but still sent up quite a bit of storm surge to us. The sound was impressive! These are some of the waves crashing at Spittal Pond on the South Shore.

  • a surfer out on a ridiculously massive day at South Narra, on Sydney’s northern beaches, winter 2007

  • THE SUBJECT: / There is something absolutely beautiful about what the late afternoon autumn sun does in my part of the world. / This canoeist riding the swell of the incoming tide is hit by the great side lighting, giving him a great outline and the canoe a translucent look. THE LOCATION: / Along the Town Green on the south bank of the Hastings River in Port Macquarie , NSW, Australia. THE MAKING of ‘Canoeing the Afternoon Swell’: / Fuji S5500: High resolution jpg, 1/500sec @ f/7, ISO 100, Hand held. / Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3. • The sea on a rather windy day.

  • BEST VIEWED FULL SIZE Canon EOS 450D Ef-S 18-55mm / Tv 1/4sec / Av f/22 / ISO 100 / Converted form RAW / Lightroom 2 + Photoshop CS4

  • September 2006 at Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, a tiny fishing village about 30 miles or so from Halifax, with a permanent population of about 50. Plus thousands upon thousands of tourists from all over the world. The huge granite rocks are left over from the glaciers of the last Ice Age, 10,000 years ago, which carved out the cliffs and gullies that make the area so unique. This day the Atlantic Ocean was quite calm but there was that long slow ocean swell that rolls in slowly but with great force. The tide was low this time, but the force was enough to send the bursting surf straight up the cliffs and tower over these two people who actually weren’t soaked at all. The spray went up and did the usual seconds of pause and then collapsed, leaving them high and dry. / Sony DSCF828 camera with polarizing filter. Featured in All Water In Motion Group !!

  • Taken late afternoon as the surf was up. Plan was to fish but the fish had other ideas. Luck I bought the camera and tripod.

  • Sunrise looking towards Boat Harbour from the point just north of Oak Park. / This weekend has been absolutly junk for surfing with 6-8ft swell being slashed by strong onshore winds. There has however been some great photo opportunities if you are willing to tough out the conditions.

  • Kajaking out off the Eastcoast of Vancouver island B.C. Canada, great way to start the day. Taken with a Canon G9 as is.

  • The kelp hangs on to the edge of a huge rock shelf, pounded by the fierce and unpredictable sea as the waves crash in and the swell sucks it back out with amazing pull at Portsea, VIC. Below is a video taken by Larry Davis of the shelf, to give you an idea of how strong the current is. My photo was taken on the same rock shelf, but on another day when the tide was lower.
