The title is supposed to be lower- case. Inspired by floating cats, I suppose. : > and imagination- but, no….I created this thinking about the oxymoron of becoming an adult, and the children I see today, wearing makeup and talking on cellphones who should be enjoying childhood, not adulthood. Perhaps I am being illusional? But, in spite of it, it saddens and frustrates me when I see little girls and boys who are trying to grow up so fast…. and i don’t think it’s so much children to blame, but, i believe, it’s the media…. / how frustrating! i remember when climbing trees and playing on a playground when you’re twelve was considered normal. but, enough ranting! / Done in photoshop : >

Knitto Pinko submitted her resignation as head knitter to Farmer O’MacDonald a year ago. She decided that she no longer wanted to knit designs that she was in the least passionate about. Her dream was to have her own shop of knitwear, designed by her with 100% wool.Knowing her dream extended beyond the boundaries of this farm which she had grown so familiar with, she took on the challenges that awaited her outside nevertheless. There was no turning back since. Here she is…focusing so intently on this lovely pink knitwear for her new shop, Knitty Gritties :D /

“Sheep-stack” (stapelschaap) is part of a series (acryllic and ink on paper) I did for a book of my paintings combined with humorous animal poetry (from various authors) called “Het stapelschaap en andere dierengedichten” ISBN-10 90 77408 27 4. This is the one that got used for the cover (and title) of the book.

BEING USED TO HAVING WOLF HYBRIDS WITH LOTS OF HAIR, I’M NOT USED TO HAVING A DOG WITH A SHORT COAT. SASHA HAS VERY SHORT HAIR AND SHE SEEMS TO GET COLDER THAN THE WOLF HYBRIDS DID. AT LEAST SHE SHIVERS A LOT COMPARED TO WOLVES, I DON’T KNOW IF SHE’S COLD OR SCARED FOR A LITTLE WHILE WHEN SHE IS SHIVERING. IT SEEMS LIKE SHE ONLY DOES IT WHEN SHE GETS INTO MY TRUCK TO GO SOMEPLACE. ANYWAY, MOM DECIDED THAT SASHA NEEDED THIS SWEATER BECAUSE SHE WAS COLD. I TOLD MOM THAT DOGS HAVE ENOUGH HAIR TO KEEP THEM WARM, EVEN IN THE WINTER MONTHS THAT WE HAVE HERE IN CALIFORNIA. SO TO APPEASE MOM AND KEEP HER OFF MY BACK, WHENEVER I TAKE SASHA FISHING OR TO THE GUN CLUB WITH ME AND THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS IN THE HIGH TO MID 30’S, I PUT HER SWEATER ON HER. IN THIS PHOTO, I HAD JUST PUT THE SWEATER ON HER AND SHE WENT TO HER FAVORITE CORNER SPOT, SAT DOWN AND LOOKED AT ME AS IF TO SAY, “DO I HAVE TO WEAR THIS SWEATER”? I ALSO LOVE THE WAY SHE SAT DOWN IN THIS SHOT, JUST AS IF SHE’S RELAXING, SORT OFF. BUT THE LOOK IN HER EYES SAYS IT ALL. SHE ALSO HATES GETTING HER BACK WET WHEN IT’S RAINING AND SHE NEEDS TO GO OUTSIDE TO DO HER DUTY. IF SO MUCH AS ONE DROP HITS HER BACK, SHE STOPS DEAD IN HER TRACKS AND LOOKS BACK AT ME AS IF TO SAY, “IT’S RAINING, I’M NOT GOING OUT THERE”. BUT, AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIPS WITH THE SAME RESULT, SHE FINALLY GIVES IN AND GOES OUTSIDE TO DO HER BUSINESS. THE FUNNY PART IS, SASHA IS PART BLACK LAB AND SHE HATES WATER, OR SHOULD I SAY, SHE HATES GETTING WET. I HAVE TO ADMIT, I’M NOT A BIG FAN OF PUTTING CLOTHES OR COSTUMES ON MY DOGS. ALSO, THEY GET IN THE WAY OF HER COLLAR AND LEASH.
