I’ve posted this over at the forums but I thought it was important to post here as well. The following chart was made to help take the guess work out of how your t-shirt design colours will look after Red Bubble’s colour conversion. I simply took a CMYK swatch palette from Photoshop and put it on a t-shirt in Redbubble. As a result, all the colours were converted. Update- I’ve now added coordinates so you can easily find the relating colours between each swatch set. -In the first block of swatches is an extensive range of CMYK colours which you can use while in RGB or CMYK mode to colour your designs. On the bottom is how these colours will be converted on RB’s shirt design preview. Something different for me. I have recently been spending some time teaching myself the art of pattern creation with Illustrator and this is one of my favorites so far. see also Starflower and Fields / I’ve been thinking of writing a quick tutorial on the creation of this one as it is so simple. Another pattern I created while teaching myself how best to use Illustrator to create seamless tiles. See also Reggtro and Starflower This one was used to figure out what I can and can’t get away with. / This one is also interesting because I was experimenting with using Illustrators symbols. / The advantage being that once I have my tile repeating using a symbol(s) all I need to do to update the pattern is update the symbol and the changes made will propagate throughout. You can set up a similar technique in Photoshop by using smart layers. /

I’ve had a poster of these sample paint colour swatches hanging in my office for years. (it’s an image of sample swatches all pinned to a wall). I scanned them and thought I’d play around with them… cause I’ve always loved the array of colours. They started out as a large rectangle shape of swatches but then I played around with the overall shape by removing swatches in some areas. I merged and mirrored two sides together and got this transformer looking man from it. Thought it would look interesting on a tee.

The perfect Tee for the designer in your life! Anyone who has seen a Pantone colour swatch should recognise this one. / The colour details are as close to the t-shirt colour as the Pantone Process Uncoated tables allow. Only available in Red at this stage (for obvious reasons!) (I should point out that the central panel is actually transparent – it’s just a white frame – so there’s no possibility of mismatch between the swatch and the t-shirt fabric colour. They’re both the same thing!)
