“Liebe” is the german word for “love”. I hardly ever see it but once in a while you find a swastika being scribbled on a wall by some idiot somewhere. Another person must have seen it and replied in a great way by adding a heart and the word love. It almost looks like the heart is transforming the hatred. LOVE.
A day in the museum…Guess the wrong time of the year? I don’t think so…
Indian Wealth Symbol Featured in Incredible India Group
This is a Carson red swastika swirl on buff. This water bottle was plowed up by the farmer who owned the farm and later the rain washed the dirt away and I found it as I walked the site of the Indian village looking for arrow heads. It is a late Mississippian period pot from somewhere around 1500 to 1600 AD. The red paint is made from Iron oxide and animal fat. The design swirls around the pot and meets on three sides, not an easy design to create this well. Not bad for something buried for over 500 years. American Indian archeology has been divided into basically four time periods by archeologists – The Paleo Period – Prehistoric to 20,000 years BC – Archaic Period – 20,000 to 10,000 years BC – Woodland Period 10,000 BC to 1000 AD and the Mississippian Period – 1000 AD to 1600 AD The Paleo period was primarily found in the American southwest because of the cold that existed over much of the north part of America at that time. The later Paleo and other periods spread across the entire continent. The woodland period was when the Indians started growing crops and staying in one location instead of traveling and hunting all the time. Their stone work was of a much poorer quality but they started making pottery from clay. They tempered their pottery with sand so it didn’t last like the later period pottery did. During the Mississippian period the American Indians began to come together into tribes from their former existence as extended family groups.
Right infront of me, a team of blue clad men were readying themselves to tow their procession float. Their silken kimonos were much more grand than the happi coats and yukata of other teams. I shot this detail from behind.. and was very lucky with the lighting.
It’s actually a story of a discovery. / When we were travelling for the first time from Hangzhou to Nanjing over Suzhou, we had like five or six hours for all the sights, including the famous twin pagodas. As we arrived at the place, we saw that the pagoda monastery was already closed and it was slowly getting dark. We went down a parallel street and encountered another buddhist monastery – this one welcomed us with tightly shut doors, too. So we plodded near its walls until stumbling upon a small gate. We entered together with some weird people carrying lights in form of lotuses and found ourselves in a yard blocked with stands for the lights. Some candles were floating as fallen petals in a pool. The dark figures were constantly moving around us, voiceless, a bit intimidating. At this moment we saw it – a big swastika made up of lotus lights. Then it felt even more puzzling, as if we were taking part in some mysterious ritual, without even understanding what was going on. A nasty feeling. / It all ended up with a monk coming up to us and explaining that they were preparing to celebrate the Buddhist New Year. Beautiful. Farewell to a magic illusion. They even asked us to stay in a very open and friendly manner, but we had already bought train tickets and were to leave in several hours. And only then we realized that it was the first of January! Yet I’m thankful for having – by chance – a fortune to experience this unexpected magic. It was much more sincere and charming than sitting at the table, drinking champagne and watching old comedies on TV.
Some may recognize this photo from some of my earlier work posted here on RedBubble. As I learn more techniques in PhotoShop, I find myself wanting to post some of the more interesting results of my trial and error style of education. This is the first time I attempted to color mask something and I got the idea while looking through the list of groups and found one dedicated to the color blue, a group that I joined just so I could submit this photo! Tell me what you think!
You can tell this is an old building by the swastikas bricked into the top corners. I have only seen this on a few stuctures; most of them have been recently torn down. This one is in Campton Kentucky USA right across from the court house. What alot of people don’t know is that the swastika was a native american symbol and a greek cross believed to bring good luck.
This design represents infinite time, infinite space, infinite love! The Star of David represents infinite space. The two triangles of the Star of David symbolize “as above, so below,” meaning that there are infinitely large galaxies just as there are infinitely small galaxies. The Swastika has been a symbol of peace for millions of Hindus, Buddhists and also Raelians since it is their symbol of infinity in time, their symbol of eternity.

if you press ‘enter’ alot when writing prose it doesn’t make it a poem. it makes you look nervous (check out tips for nervous writers for possible cures) with all this sexual violence beginning to pop up, i’m starting to feel a bit left out, but i’m a little worried that becasue i’m a chap, i’m not really allowed to start banging on about tying up girls and getting all unholy and as such if if i let my imagination loose, will i get arrested by the bubble police? basically i want to do some nazi pensioner farmyard bestiality shit, including a great scene with a set of 4 shia’ muslim elderly midget transexual quatruplets, a 240 volt 4- way swastika dildo and a headless chicken, set in a tel aviv shopping centre. the twist is that the batteries run out. cracking or what? basically it’s a light-hearted family comedy. perhaps i should write as a girl… is a sex change the answer?
I bet you noticed this symbol immediately. But what most European and US people don’t know is that this is a very old and common religious symbol from Asia, mainly India. It is used in Buddhism, Hinduism and others. The Nazis just have used or “stolen” the symbol for their purposes. / . / We stayed in Kathmandu, Nepal, in a good hotel and they changed the decoration at the hotel entry each day. Imagine the confused look of some of the people of our hiking group (mostly Germans) when they saw this. / . / . / Read more on Wikipedia / . / .
it wasnt the nazi symbol first..
the only fair way to treat people is individualy, as you meet them. and by the way… laws cant cure rasism. only individuals deciding for themselves how they should behave can. if you want the freedom to behave the way you want, you have to give that freedom, and that RESPOSNSIBILITY, to others. if yer using force to make others behave the way you want, yer just as much a fascist as those you whom you are legislating against.
