This Mural has been painted over a building on the seafront at Swanage Dorset. UK. This part shows a fifties style ice cream parlour/coffee bar. The other is the main part of the building showing stairs and if you look closely you will see the words, ‘This is a photo opportunity’ Which I couldn’t resist. My thanks to the artists, Antonia Phillips and Nina Camplain. / Thank you for looking. /

This is Corfe Castle, which lies between Wareham and Swanage, in Dorset. / The castle can be seen from far away, as it dominates the Purbeck Hills. / I decided to put on the B&W tinted version as the main picture, and below, you will see the colour version. Both have been edited in CS3, just to make them a little different from the usual pics you see. I hope you like it. / Thank you for looking.
A section of rail track belonging to the Swanage Railway. / This section was taken by the NT car park at Corfe Castle, Dorset. / Again, B&W suits the pic better than colour. Hope you like it. / Thank you for looking.

Swanage bay in Dorset on a calm morning after a storm
Swanage Bay in Dorset from Sheps Hollow, on the morning of February 3rd 2009. It’s rare to have snow in Swanage anyway so to have it on the beach! It was very cold
The Swanage to Poole Chain Ferry or ‘Sandbanks’ Ferry, Dorset, England. A wonderful sight with the topless double decker bus onboard. The Sandbanks Ferry has run between Sandbanks and Studland since 1926 and is for many people, a “must do” on their visit to Poole. The chain ferry operates daily, carrying all manner of traffic across the mouth of Poole Harbour, cutting out the long journey time to places like Corfe Castle and Swanage from Poole by taking the direct route. Old Harry Old Harry Rocks are situated on the Dorset coast between Studland and Swanage. They mark the eastern end of the “Jurassic Coast” World Heritage Site, stretching from here to East Devon, demonstrating a rich geological history going back 185 million years. The chalk stack on the right is I believe Old Harry himself, though there does seem to be some disagreement about this. The name ‘Old Harry’ may be a synonym for the devil, or it could be that the rocks were named after a famous Poole pirate, Harry Paye, who used to store his contraband nearby. There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that the rocks take their name from English football manager Harry Redknapp, a resident of nearby Sandbanks, and whose team Portsmouth lifted the FA Cup in 2008. I believe he does enjoy a round of golf at the Purbeck course though, not far from here. Date: 18th May 2008 Click here for another shot of Old Harry Rocks & The Pinnacles

/ The Station Master for Swanage Railway at Corfe Castle railway Station, Corfe Village, Dorset. He works as a volunteer. The Swanage Railway is a six mile-long heritage railway in the Purbeck district of Dorset, England. The railway follows the route of the Purbeck branch line (Norden Park & Ride – Corfe Castle – Harman’s Cross – Herston Halt – Swanage), and has been re−connected to the mainline at Wareham along a stretch of the branch line that remained open to freight until 2005. Trains operate on the Swanage Railway between Swanage and Norden Park and the steam locomotives are quite a site to see running through this beautiful countryside. The link between the Swanage Railway and the main line at Wareham is currently used only for locomotive and stock movements, and work is continuing to provide the infrastructure needed to enable regular services to be implemented in the future.
