Today was a beautiful day, the sun came out at last, the rain stopped, that was enough for me, grabbed my camera and headed straight for Langstone Habour. The tide was out the sun was shining and it wasn’t too cold. There were 2 swans in the little pool of water by the redundant windmill. All I have done to this image is a simple sharp and change to b&w and that is it. /

This is a late edition to my Swan Lake series where I captured my beautiful model Kylie with Tulle blowing in the wind. 3 seperate exposures layered into one & with speedlite lighting and a dark curved sky reminds me of old paintings. BRITISH WILDLIFE SERIES This is the last of my older works (I think) / Swan Splash was done about 20 years ago / One of my first pen and ink drawings in this / style. / I have done this piece about 5 times for / exhibitions over the years (different sizes and / slightly different details) but this is the original / that only I have. The dahlias are going away and making way for fall colors here in Oregon. This morning is probably the last time I’ll go to Swan Island Dahlais for the season. Their glory is starting to fade away. Swan Island Dahlia in Canby, Oregon. They are about 2 miles from my home and I spend most of my August there. The best part is everyone has dahlia’s and can be photographed very easily. I even have about 7 or 8 varieties in my own yard.
