  • Walk to the shops don’t drive. / When at the shops spend less. / Instead of putting the heater on, put on a jumper. / Instead of putting on the air-con, open a window and take off your shirt. / Instead of buying a SUV, by a small car, or better yet, a hybrid. / Instead of the car, take public transport, or ride a bike. / Think more, use less… / Love the planet, it’s the only one we’ve got!

  • When you look in a mirror or at yourself in a photograph, you only see part of yourself or a distortion of yourself. A drawing or a painting is what you look like, as a whole human being, to another person. (the model)

  • Taken yesterday – This is Emu Down’s Wind Farm. It boasts to be the 4th largest in Australia with 48 Turbines capable supplying electricity to 50,000 homes per year. / Each turbine is 68.5m high (to the little box – which is the height of an average man). And the blades are 41m long. / I liked this one because of what was going on around it. The sticks in the foreground are from GrassTrees, then obviously all the electricity poles in the background…. Some people may think it is too busy :) I have altered it to B & W and put it through a filter – would like to know your thoughts :) Thanks for looking :)

  • 2009.05.22 Image taken & entered into a photographic comp by our local Council to depict ‘Sustainability in Motion’. The Sunshine Coasts attraction to many, is it’s beaches, local waterways & laid back lifestyle & to me Sustainability is keeping things clean & green without having too big an impact or footprint to keep it attainable. ‘Social Sustainability’ Surfing at Moffats / The beaches are one of the biggest attractions along our coast, & with many surfers & families visiting these beaches it makes sense to look after our beaches. The crowds of Surfers who compete & surf socially, make up only 1of the social networks who contribute to the local community in many ways.

  • This work is a response to a sustainability brief from last year. / ‘If we do not change our direction we will end up where we are headed’ – chinese proverb / I’m thinking about the Great Australian Sprawl and how we are eating up our land so that each of us can have a piece of the Dream. We should be worshipping our land, not raping it for housing development. we should be living in our city centres, in towering sky scrapers designed by innovative and revolutionary artists, and leaving the forest to the trees: so that we have something to visit….and breathe. it’s a sad fact. i’m born and bred from the bush. but every time i go home to visit, Town is closer and closer and kookaburras, green tree frogs and wallabys are less and less.

  • Multi-function meets art! My Service Series is created from reclaimed wood, as I found these wooden trays on the side of the road (about 100 of them!), and thought wow these would make excellent serving trays! I have always been service oriented and the hostess with the mostess always looking for a new serving tray, but I could never find one that really spoke to me, so now I’ve made my own. Service Series: Pincurl Girls / Mixed Media (latex and acrylic artists colors on reclaimed wood with copper pipes and cabinet handles added) / 2009 / $675
