Lava rock off the South coast of Maui with the light of the setting sun illuminating the clouds and rocks alike as the incoming tides surge past the rocks.
A bit of sunrise light over the West Maui Mountains and Lanai and a powerful sea ebbing and flowing over the rugged lava rock off the coast of Kihei. The way the ocean seemed to fold before me as I stood on rock had me in awe of the beauty of nature
Big Bass Strait swell coming in and crashing through the holes and caves of London Bridge, as it is called…Portsea, Vic. Aus..slowish shutter speed to flow the water and taken with my 18-200 lens…thanks for looking…rgs, Rob.
Surging tide over the rock shelf at Bridgewater Bay..This one nearly bowled me over as I was set up with my tripod. I was suprised that it came out sharp, cos it was 1/2 second exposure. I think the shutter must have closed the split second before this two foot wall of water hit me…anyway, I got the shot..! Nice thunderstorm building on the horizon..as per below. thanks for looking..rgs, Rob.

Nothing like being part of the shot..!!..Similar to a shot I uploaded a short time back, well similar but very different..I love this one due to full water surge rising over the rock shelf…tripod firmy planted to prevent movement in this long exposure..nothing like getting your feet wet and being amongst it all…..thanks for looking and comments always appreciated…cheers, Rob.
Quite a memorable shot for me, this one…I was rock hopping across to little Clyde Island on the Tasman Coast during an outgoing tide, well I was half way across when a rather large wave forced its way through the narrow channel between the rocks…there’s that moment when your sure your going to get wet….perched on a rock with my tripod, managed to fire off a 3 shot hdr while the water surged around me…for once, I didn’t get soaked – to my amazement…!! / No ND’s at my disposal as I snapped the holder off my lens a few days earlier so hdr was the only option to capture this brooding stormy morning sky…..thanks for looking…rgs, Rob.
Arrested Expansion is a symbolic scene that depicts a combination of self-excluding objects that might not be present in real life. Objects in the secluded room make the viewer feel claustrophobic and unreal, which might be compared to someone’s mental delusion based on a medical condition. Image is a mixture of photo stock with some 2D vectors, and 3D objects. Photoshop, 3ds max, Illustrator. / The most common cause of cardiac arrest is a heart rhythm disorder or arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation (VF). The heart has a built-in electrical system. When a contraction happens, blood is pumped. But in ventricular fibrillation, the electrical signals that control the pumping of the heart suddenly become rapid and chaotic. As a result, the lower chambers of the heart, the ventricles, begin to quiver (fibrillate) instead of contract, and they can no longer pump blood from the heart to the rest of the body. If blood cannot flow to the brain, it becomes starved of oxygen, and the person loses consciousness in seconds. Yesterdays shooting where I had to scouted this canyon and slid down in from the top and followed the water down a 1/2 mile before I could find a spot to climb out. Some nice Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream near Mt. Rainier
Photograph taken with a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot.
Days end and a stormy sky a brewing. The surging tide washing ones troubles away.

Words written by Chang Heng Chang Heng ( 78 – 139) was the leading scientist of the Later (or Eastern) Han Dynasty of first and second century China. He was a scholar in many areas, among them astronomy, cartography, mathematics, philosophy, and literature. Also known as Zhang Heng and Pingzhi, Heng is credited with creating the first seismograph to record earthquakes, devised an armillary – or celestial globe – to track the movement of planets and stars, proposed the concept of the lunar eclipse, developed longitude and latitude grids for maps, invented the odometer, and wrote love poems and other literary works. This painting I dedicate to Chang Heng July 24th 2009
This is a closer view of the storm at our pier in Holland Michigan. Just after this happened I received a big splash with the wind.. I got wet and the camera got a bath.. I had a big paper towel to wipe it off and pull out the battery.. No problems .. Gads.. Its hard to imagine how much of a water surge is going on.. But let me say that the pier has about 8-10 ft of clearance from the walking area of the pier until it hits the water.. None of my friends would go out there to help with the perspective figure that.. Hope you enjoy.. This is the first upload not using dial up.. It would take about an hour to do so.. LOL.. / Chuck..
