Surfer waiting in the lineup at the crack of dawn, I guess the title says it all
For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

Last light of the day in Inverloch, Victoria. / 16mm wide-angle with graduated neutral density filter.
I think I managed to snap this one at just the right moment.
I re-worked an older image.
Vector art, showing the Navy’s newest secret weapon, which creeps around under the surface of our busiest Australian surf spots, keeping a watchful eye out for miscreants.
Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / Tube Chic by Karin Taylor / Mixed Media Production / / I used ink, pastel, acrylic and charcoal to create the original Tube Chic / So many women have taken up surfing in our area / I admit, I always wanted to, and a few years ago / lept on a mal and caught my first wave / with lots of yahooing / yeah it was the / best feeling :) Although I don’t surf much on a board these days, i prefer a body surf or some fun on a shark cookie (body board) lol….......a lot of my family do still surf…husband, son, daughter, brother .... heck my bro Tim was pretty famous once ….they called him Twister, for his amazing manouvres in the surf and sharp flix…and of course, they all nicknamed me ‘Twister’s Sister’ which was pretty cool at the time…..since then my bro actually has snapped both his ankles doing his cool trix in the surf…..once he had to swim in and drag himself up the beach trying to get help…...no-one was around…..eventually a 4wd came to the rescue down on the beach….loaded Tim up on the truck and got him some ambulance attention…...i took him to the hospital and passed out :)) / can’t handles hospital smells!! or is it the thought of blood….both!!
This image started life as an ink line drawing, then I traced it into Illustrator, and then softened it to make it look like stencil street art.
Simple vector Illustrator artwork. Thick, fat surfboards have more buoyancy, paddle better, and make it easier to catch more waves.
Huge waves today…surfers everywhere….major bummer because I only had my 85mm with me…
I captured this shot while standing on the Huntington Beach Pier. This girl was a standout among the other surfers in the water. Everyone else was wearing wetsuits for warmth, but she was just as you see her, catching the waves without a moment’s pause. Yes, her hair is wet, despite looking like she just used a blow dryer. My first surfing photo on Red Bubble and more to come. Remember: Framing and matting is available at Red Bubble. Thanks for visiting!
Here on Maui, we have a neighbor who decided to build a fence out of old surfboards. Well, now there are 600+ surfboards surrounding the property and the number grows daily as folks simply deposit their old hardware onto the property without giving it a second thought. I took this from the road using my Fujifilm 6×17 film camera (for sale now!) This fence has recently made international news and is a “Mecca” for all tourists to photograph.
