As the Watchmen movie legal battle is fought in courts, we can only wait and “watch” to see if it will ever grace our silver screens. Rorschach Obama hope style. “They watch over us…but who watches them?”

I used my 18-55 lens in retro position at 18mm to get an insane magnification, round about 4:1. the flake was sitting on my black glove outside my window. shot was taken in November 2008. Aperture: f/3.5 / Shutter: 1/180 / ISO: 200 / Internal Flash fired
I have been working on several images recently that I find quite emotionally draining to do.. I posted one of these just earlier today. I find it helps me to ‘take a break’ from this kind of work by photographing particularly macros that are ‘simply beautiful’, and don’t attempt to be anything more than just this. So – to lift my mood – i decided to post another of the images I took this magical morning a few days ago.. A super macro of a dew-covered blade of grass glistening in the very early morning sun. Sony Alpha 350, Sony 100mm Macro Lens, Focal Length 100mm + 3x Extension Tubes, f8.0 @ 1/60 Sec Exp, ISO 100, Handheld. As Is from the camera.

This Is A character I came up with for a Story I wrote. / /
“The noise was deafening as we moved along the dark cave, perspiration dripped from my face as the heat intensified. The glow at the end of tunnel like cave was turning a bright orange, who knows what we would find at the end. The remaining members of our expedition were silent, you could feel the tension in the air as the noise became even louder. A week after leaving the surface of the earth, no-one could ever have had prepared us for what we were about to see…....” Super-Macro photograph, focal length 6.0-20mm. Burnt metal and paint. Baby Praying Mantis, found in my back yard, feeding happily on the fruit flies!! Yay! I watched him slowely stalk this little fly, and after about 30 minutes of creeping up, BAM the fly had no hope.. He wouldn’t put down his feed for the shoot either, how rude! Canon 5D Mk II, 65mm, 4x. Available Large, and best viewed Large!
My daughter brought this bumble bee to me on a flower from my friend’s yard today; his leg was wonky and he just sat there, allowing me to get some nice close ups! Not your typical tourist snapshot of this historical monument, this photograph was taken by my father, J. Reeves Haley in March, 1945. The most stricking difference of course is the traffic , or lack of it – just a few army vehicles and soldiers. / This was taken with his Zeiss Super Ikonta BX which I have now.
