This awesome winter sunset was photographed on Town Beach in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. I had been photographing the rocks at the south end of the beach where the light from the setting sun was painting its way across the seascape when I turned around to go back to my car and saw this. How could I resist? If you look closely at the bottom left corner there is the silhouette of an Oyster Catcher walking around the rocks. Enjoy! SUNSETS / (Click the links!) This was taken on a late afternoon when I’d just escaped the office following a particularly fraught encounter with an unpleasant person. Ahh…wonderful the way photography can be an escape sometimes! I had gone for a drive just to clear my head and was driving along a country road on this windy, cold day when there was a sudden blizzard. It was severe enough there were whiteout conditions but the amazing thing about it was the way it was so isolated. I drove out of it within about two minutes. When I doubled back along a parallel road I drove right back into the blizzard again and all of a sudden the sun shone through a break in the clouds. It was quite an extraordinary sight. I stopped the car to see if I could get a picture of it and was almost blinded by the 60 km. per hour winds blowing snow into my eyes….and worse, the camera! :-) Location: Halton Hills, Ontario

Manipulating images is something that I love enormously, sastisfying the need to create darker and more classic imagery, something that I don’t express in my paintings. I’m fascinated by images and how I can blend them to create something new.
