Sun setting behind the backyard fence.
Sun setting in a tiny ancient forest within a much larger “new” forest. I love finding these mystical settings, and the great light just added to this.

I removed the original and replaced it with this version. I performed mild photoshop CS4 cosmetics to remove some of the shrubbery and then cropped a bit.
A more complex shot of Half Dome. I used 4 exposures of this shot and had taken 7. This was done with a Canon G9. I have exposures of this in film too, but they are not back from the developer yet… heh

Crepuscular rays can appear when the clouds (or terrain) that are responsible for the rays are below the horizon. The so-called crepuscular rays are solar rays cast on the purple red, while the sun is below the observer’s horizon, and sometimes span the entire twilight sky towards the Earth’s shadow band (the twilight wedge). If the purple red is obvious, look for these uncommon rays fanning out of the horizon. A amazing and rare sight, With the rays of light beaming up from the horizon and right up into the sky as you can see in this shot. EOS 500D. They are rusty and falling apart for the most part, but a kind of charm to the landscape. This is not far from my house near the old Oregon Trail. Went out to watch the sun set and the storm come in, was hoping to try for a lightning shot, but had no luck this time.
A photograph of the Barming woods Maidstone as the sun was beginning to set… Colour was removed using Lightroom but apart from this the image is directly from the camera.. Taken with Nikkor 200mm on Auto….
