At West Kirby in the early evening, waiting for the appropriate moment.
This is short for Wagga Wagga west Winter (sunset) and is a matching piece to winter sunset. / I think I was lucky to get these shots without a car running into me from behind! Stopping at an intersection to take photos is not always a good idea!
No two boab trees are the same, they are remarkable trees that can live to 1500 years and older, this makes them the oldest living things in Australia and one of the oldest living trees in the world. / The boab only reaches about 15 meters high but it’s massive trunk can exceed 20 meters. The boab is an extremely slow growing tree and it takes hundreds of years to grow to these impressive sizes. / The boab is deciduous and almost all of it is edible from the seeds to the roots, it is however protected and therefore you must purchase only commercially grown produce. / The boab can only be found in the Kimberly region of Western Australia. / /
A beautiful West Australian sunset but I was in the bus with the students and we couldn’t stop!!! One for the do over group! But such lovely colours!

The Harvest Moon is always a sad time for me. It means that the end of the sailing season is approaching fast; nights are drawing in as quick as they ever do; and Autumn is just around the corner. It is still a wonderful sight though, and a challenge to photograph. [the following is paraphrased from NASA:] / The Harvest Moon is no ordinary full moon; it behaves in a special way. Throughout the year the Moon rises, on average, about 50 minutes later each day. But near the autumnal equinox, which comes this year (2008) on Sept. 22nd, the day-to-day difference in the local time of moonrise is only 30 minutes. That comes in handy for northern farmers who are working long days to harvest their crops before autumn. The extra dose of lighting afforded by the full Moon closest to the equinox is what gives the Harvest Moon its name. For you bubblers In the southern hemisphere, sorry, the Moon behaves in exactly the opposite way: there is an extra long time between moonrises from one evening to the next.
This was taken on the same evening as my image of the harvest moon. This was the tail-end of a fantastic sunset, typical of September in the west of Scotland (if it isn’t raining)

Somerset was hit by flash flooding a week ago. Lots of villages in the local area experienced problems of different kinds, from roads being blocked to homes being flooded. I took this photo when out on a walk looking for Starlings. I didn’t see any Starlings but found myself standing near the river Brue which was completely overflowing into the field seen here. The water in the foreground is usually where cattle graze…
West Cape Howe / Western Australia Racing against the light I was taking my mates along 4wd tracks heading to the most southern point in WA. A split second decision and we ended up here on this stunning beach just as the sun disappeared. I snapped a couple of compositions and then we headed back. With a pounding surf the long exposure had stunning results. You can view more of my images at / www.swilliamsphotos.com and my blog / www.swilliamsphotos.wordpress.com

Skies were full of dark grey clouds, as the sun slowly set beneath them. This is one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen in Pennsylvania. Sure, enough the following day, a horrendous thunderstorm rolled in with torrential rains and plenty of thunder and lightening. The thunder was so loud that it sounded like continuous explosions. Even the house shook! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D in West Chester, Pennsylvania. /
Tassies west coast in all it’s amazing glory.
This is another frame from the several I captured at West Pier ruins in Brighton and Hove

it was one of Nature’s blessings that night. / the Vivid Sunset Colors were getting deeper and richer as it got dark. / I had worked the previous night so had been awake almost 24hrs at this point. / its a long way up to our cabin and the reward was so nice. / this is the jpeg from my canon powershot g10 / I hit the Direct positive feature in Lightroom and did a ND grad filter—.6 of 1 stop under to bring the sky back into balance. / this is about 99% of what the night gave us at 1600 ft above sea level. / I must apologize for not being very active on Redbubble as of late and will reciprocate to those of have been so kind with taking time to comment on my photo’s, cheers, Evan Spellman
