This was one of the most awesome sunsets I have stood around for – way out in the interior. The tree was so arresting in silhouette and the light was pooling more and more intensely. It was actually raining slightly. / And I was getting nibbled at by turtles in the water as I clicked away over that magic hour.

At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. And that is exactly what I did, slowdown, park, get out the tripod, and started shooting away! Often times the most beautiful things are the things which we fail to notice. Life’s little things, like this for example. My intention was to head for the mountains and normally when doing so, I wouldn’t even be paying attention to the sky, let alone stopping to shot it. Well, this time I took some time out so I wouldn’t miss it! Glad I did to, it was downright stunning! No one around, as you can see, just me, the breeze, and the colors of nature. I have always said that there is something about being up at this time of the day….and yeah, there is. Processed in HDR, long exposure using my 4ND and my CPL, let me know what ya think watchers! Ya, thought the title pretty much summed it up! Captured a couple night ago as the sun was sinking low out at Reunion Lake on the eastern plains of Colorado. The colors were just stunning, I was pretty awe struck, it yielded quite a few really nice shots! Let me know what ya think! / —-John

I began to climb when we got the region..And then, I climbed around 5000 ft.. Then the mist began.. So I had to stop climbing cause it was getting risky and I dont like making mistakes “in purpose”.. I waited around 10 mins but saw the mist was coming up on me.. So I gave up and decided to go back down.. :)) This time it didnt want me to climb.. So I got back and after 5 mins, storm began with the wind.. :(( (anyways, I did the right ) / In this week we will try again and again… Although we get the forecast from the satellite, it doesnt somehow match (or it changes too fast) :)) I keep posting them in serie :) / This one is one of the first shots when I got to region.. / Well I keep trying :)) TAke Care All :)) / Region Arhavi -TURKEY

*Sunflowers and Colorado Sunsets * Revisiting the Sunflower fields I miss so much, a magical place on the eastern plains of Colorado like no where else, a place one day I hope returns. As the front rage of the Colorado Rocky Mountains dances with the setting sun, this scene seemed something out a paradise lost, the kind of thing you only ever read about. On this day when shooting the sunset here, I shot over 400 shots and came back quite a few other times as well. Well worth it I would say! I kept returning to this spot, night after night, sometimes it was raining or misty and other nights were simply ideal though a tad chilly … This spectacular natural rock arch, sculpted by weathering and erosion from the sea over thousands of years is well worth visiting. Here you can also observe a colony of New Zealand Fur-seals as they feed, swim and laze on the shore platform below. If you cannot see them you can sure smell them ! Lets celebrate for the other / Every time one sees a solutions lets do it again … / Celebrate / Celebrate each other.. And then we will loose track of / Perfect timing cause every moment will be just perfect!! Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks? Rural northern Boulder County, Colorado Honest to God above, this was utterly amazing….I can’t really find the wards to describe the whole scene to you all but I will try my best. I had to handhold this, along with the other shots to come, my knee is totally kaput so using a tripod was pretty much out of the question, however that isn’t the only reason…as we were shooting last evening, the lightning was all over the place, and well there were times when I wanted to grab it and try, but thought better of it lol Tripods make for great Lightning conductors! lol The clouds were just insane, and I mean really crazy, this storm went severe dropping reports of funnel clouds to the north east of us and hail as well. It passed over our heads, but sure made for some utterly incredible atmospheric shots! So you take that, a Sunflower field the size of a small state, the sunset, a country road, and the foothills and mountains as a backdrop, and friends, you have quite a scene you will NEVER forget!
