  • Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. Top Ten placement in the Canada Goes for Gold challenge, Canada group November 2009 / Featured in Live, Love, Dream group, October 2008

  • Drove up here after a long day of taking photos hoping to catch a good sunset, ended up being pretty good. A composite of 15 images if you include the 3 shots taken to make each HDR photo. Stitched together using photoshop and did a bit of touching up in Lightroom. Sales 1 Matted Print 1 Poster On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. This is pure HDR generated from 5 bracketted images This shot was taken at Newport Wharf which is located on the shores of Pittwater north of Sydney. Easily accessable by car or public transport. Its the kind of place where you can wind down at the end of the day with a cold beer or a glass of Australian Chardonnay and watch the sun set in the west.. This is my neighbourhood about 5 minutes from my home, “Just a Little Touch of Paradise.” we get some great sunsets in winter. / ! / So if youre visiting Sydney areas like this are within 40 klms of the city Equipment: Nikon D300, Nikkor 18-200 mm lens , handheld / Technique: HDR 5 Exposures, Bracketted, Photomatix Framed Print / / Please Also See the sister print to this image “Fire In The Sky – Newport”

  • 16”x 12” Watercolour painting on cold pressed paper of the sun setting from Long Island, Whitsundays. • Scotland, Loch Eil, Fort William, from the top gondola station Nevis Range. What better way and place to spend a late June evening than sitting with a cool beer at the top of a Scottish mountain watching the sun sink into the lochs and hills to the west. A truly peaceful and inspiring experience Canon EOS 1D mark II N / Canon 70-200 f2.8 L lens / f8 / 1/200 sec / ISO-400

  • The defensive Tower house of Smailholm, just over the Scottish border, near Kelso. The tower was built in the mid 1400’s at a time when lawlessness and violent bands of reivers, ravaged the lands both sides of the English-Scottish border. And a solitary white swan, resides below the Tower Even today, the landscape is lonely, and you can easily imagine the starkness of those dark days. Dreary dull, grey, original digital photograph. / Lots of photoshop layers and borrowed sunset from my bonny Northumberland, Budle Bay photo. Inversion and refining with digital painting….. it would have been easier to conventionally paint this!!

  • My last sunset in NZ :-)) Hope you like it

  • This is one of my very first sunset shots. The weather has been really nice and has made some very lovely sunsets. I happen to live on a hill which overlooks the San Gabriel Valley and this view is taken just to the south of my house. Downtown LA would be towards the right, facing this image. The sun lit up the sky and I pulled out my tripod quickly and tried to figure out the exposure. I took about 8 photos and this one came out the best. This was taken inside my bedroom. I have a balcony outside my room, but I thought taking it inside the room would be more cool hehe :) This was taken with a Canon Elan, 100mm lens, 35mm film, and shot at f4, 38 secs. taking into account reciprocity failure from the film.

  • THIS IS A BIG IMAGE VIEW LARGER FOR BEST RESULTS This shot was taken from Echo Point in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area at sunset, it was created from 5 bracketed images using a Nikon D300 fitted with a Nikon 18-200mm. No filters were used. The rock formations to the left are known as “The Three Sisters” the image was taken at sunrise looking past the Sisters certainly have a great view. The Blue Mountains are located 2 hours west of Sydney by road, also by train for visitors to Sydney, there are also organised day trips via motor coach that will take you to the area for the day…. though if you have the time spend a few days in the area. You can see all the attractions, have a devonshire tea in one of the many teahouses, or sit on the edge of the valley that seems to go on forever, and listen to the birdlife. Bushwalking is a must !

  • The high point at Minuan on Achill Island, County Mayo, Ireland as sun was setting. A fierce wind was buffing my whole body. • Well been away from RB for a week but will catch up with all the work I’ve missed from you all. I took this shot last night and got frost nip in the process, so my finger tips all felt like they had been smashed with a hammer, can still feel it a bit today, I’ve already been told off for not wearing gloves ;-) / It was really beautiful and worth a little pain. Taken on Mt Wellington Tasmania facing west to distant mountain ranges.

  • Another from the telly’s trip to Newcastle Baths.

  • A very colourful cart full of flowers overlooking the bay in Argostoli, Kefalonia. / The town of Argostoli was devastated by the 1953 earthquake and very few original features remain. Although unlike Zakynthos town it was not rebuilt in its “venetian” style, it has an attractive waterfront which features a colourful fruit market, for farmers to sell their produce Please visit my website / / PaulThompsonPhotography Canon 5D Mk2 / ISO 100 / F16

  • ....sometimes it pays to turn around. / You’ll notice that this is a view from behind the Tree, not the traditional view. Most of us that go there mainly photograph it from the other side…. something made me turn around on this particular night.

  • Jackson Bay, West Coast, South Island, New Zealand. / I spent four days out on the coast, waiting for a sunset. All that happened was rain, untill the last day and there was a small gap in the clouds. / Nikon D200 Views 630 /
