The Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, India – I believe India’s largest Mosque – one of my favourite buildings in the world. I love Islamic art and architecture. I wanted to create something different when photographing this beautiful building. Architecture pictures can be boring and lifeless – I didn’t want to represent the Jama Masjid in this way, because it is so full of life. I asked the boy in the foreground to run through the flock of pigeons so they would fly upwards, away from the building. It was a nice coinsidence that he was positioned in the doorway. This effect achieved, to me, looks like angels flying out of the Mosque. Angels of Allah.

At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. This sunset photograph was taken in Donsol, Philippines in January 2007, and shows two fishermen going home after a day of fishing. I myself had had an unsuccessful day of trying to spot whale sharks, but this sunset made the whole day worthwhile.

The fishing boat is dwarfed by the setting sun as it heads home to harbour at Sattathip. Thank you to whoever purchased this image in a large laminated print format :<)
