Beautiful sunset behind a Texas windmill
Image that captured the sun setting. I was on my way home from helping my friends, change the motor in their scraper. It was my first time to get this close to a scraper! I seen this shot developing in front of me, and once again could not resist. It to records close to what the first settlers might of seen. It to perserves some of how it was before the change! I really like this shot, and you will agree!
No editing was done on this photo. I took many picture of this same sky. My camera actually messed up and because of this it captured the sky with that dark tint that it has on it. Sunset in Houston Texas.

Taken down a red dirt road in Knox County, Texas. Used my Canon D30 with programmed settings. Added 3D Transform Render for DOF. The Lord gives us beautiful sunsets on this parched land that are full of promises for tomorrow.

I have wanted to get a nice picture of it for about ten years now, and we actually went by it two days ago. I used my Canon Rebel XT to capture this shot. I was excited that we were going to get there at sundown. Funny thing is right after this shot, we ran into another one just like it in Indiana. I could not believe someone else put the exact same cross on their farm property, wonder if their related. This is Groom, Texas skyline, and put them on the map. The settings were shutter speed 1/30sec. F-stop F/5.0, ISO 400, Focal Length 140.0mm. This was an as is shot. Welcome to the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries and the marvelous story of what God is doing through this 19 story cross located on Interstate 40 at Groom, Texas. Construction of the / cross frame was done in two shops in Pampa, Texas by more than 100 welders and erected in July of 1995. Truly, all things are possible for those who believe. Ten million people pass by every year. One thousand stop each day. This 190 foot tall free standing Cross can be seen from twenty miles away. Thomas saith to him, “Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?” Jesus saith to him: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.”

I have decided to upload one of my shots from my younger years as a photographer. The sunsets where I grew up in Texas (around Carthage) are some of the most marvelous and magnificent I have ever seen. I must have been about 19 or 20 when I took this one evening when returning home from Longview I believe. It was a rainy/ misty evening and as the sun set, the sky became emblazoned with the rich yellows, reds and oranges. The water tower standing proud provided a fantastic silhouette against that glorious sky. This shot was taken with my Canon AE-1 camera and 400 ISO slide film. It was taken looking through the windscreen which gave it this misty feel to the shot. I am unsure of the settings, but if i had to guess, I would suggest that the settings were likely to be f/5.6 at 1/60 of a second which is what I usually had my camera set to for General purposes. MInd you, this is going back nearly 18 years or so, and though i still have the slide, I don’t have the setting recorded.
