Found a Dandelion Fairy in the yard while watching the sunset over the suburban rooftops and thought, hey.. Why not? And this was the end result!

The Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, India – I believe India’s largest Mosque – one of my favourite buildings in the world. I love Islamic art and architecture. I wanted to create something different when photographing this beautiful building. Architecture pictures can be boring and lifeless – I didn’t want to represent the Jama Masjid in this way, because it is so full of life. I asked the boy in the foreground to run through the flock of pigeons so they would fly upwards, away from the building. It was a nice coinsidence that he was positioned in the doorway. This effect achieved, to me, looks like angels flying out of the Mosque. Angels of Allah.

I went to the lake very early in the morning ,it was pretty cold but it was worth it ,it looks like the trees were in fire.Oh! NO SATURATION ,this was exactly that color. With saturation we would see some blue tint and we don’t .I could’nt beleive it myself.

© Claire McAdams / ALL RIGHTS RESERVED For less expensive high quality prints of this photo, click here This is a lake near where I lived in ny over the summer. This is a self portrait I did for a challenge on another site. It ended up winning second place and getting my highest score so far :-) It was really difficult to shoot. I was REALLY lucky to get this when the sun was showing because tihs took about 30-45 minutes of experimenting with how to light it and how to compose it before I got my 8 minute window between when the sun came out from behind the clouds and went behind the trees. It was REALLY difficult to get it so where my head was bellow the reflection of the mountain in the water so that i would have the orange hallow around my head….I actually had to balance my tripod on three round rocks to get my camera high enough to get it positioned that way. (this is a self portrait) Then I would CAREFULLY set the timer on the camera so as not to knock my camera into the water….really nerve wracking…and then run to the rock and pose myself. I basically had 5 tries at this and was really lucky to get it. I feel like my outfit doesn’t match the surroundings but I couldn’t think of a color to change it to to make it match. Oh well. I still really like this photo, and its nice to finally do a self portrait again.

A large formation of Lava rock off the coast of Kihei on Maui, Hawaii turned into a boiling sinking cauldron by the rising tides flowing in from above and below. The water level on this cauldron would rise and fall as much as 6 feet with the ebb and flow of the waves. I was fascinated by this marvel of nature and creation.

Taken on a beautiful evening at Wattamolla in Royal NP just south of Sydney Australia. / This is a blended exposure of two identical shots – one shot was taken to expose for the water and to catch its movement, the second shot to expose for the sky. I then combined them in PS. I find this technique gives you a lot more control over an image than by simply using a graduated density filter. I kept the aperture the same for both shots (f/8) but the sky was a 1sec exposure and the waterfall 30sec – so you can get an idea how wide the dynamic range was here. / Canon 30D / Tv – 1sec-30sec / Av – f/8 / ISO – 400 / FL – 21mm / Circular Polarising Filter

This shot is one part of my previous panorama but I find that this particular crop which is about 2 shots of the total 5 just does something for me..It also shows how much detail is in these pano’s and the potential for an ultra large print which I must do one day. / Thanks once again for looking and recent comments….cheers, Rob.

Dramatic Scottish sunset over Sand Dunes near Arisaig, Western Scotland. Some may know this beach from the film ‘Local Hero’ This Photograph won Editors Choice as well as Photo of the week on the website ePHOTOzine.com : “Every month editor Pete will explain why he has chosen a particular Photo of the Week. This month: Arisaig Sunset by arwengrace. Photo Of The Week Comment from Pete Barr Angela Barnett (arwengrace) usually grabs my attention with fascinating magical-style montages. Her more recent work has been landscapes and this one, taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, really caught my eye as well as many of the members. It has exceeded 200 votes of confidence. / So what’s so special? Well for me it’s the amazing depth of colour and atmosphere. Sunsets are always popular, but this takes the glorious ‘ah-factor’ colours of a sunset and adds an incredible ‘wow’ topping of drama. There’s not really anything to lead you around the shot or vie for your attention, just a complete canvas of painterly light with the contrast of the dark monotone snow and the depth and incredibly colourful cloud formations. I bet it looks wonderful printed.”
