An acrylic painting 14” x 12” of a solitary surfer, contemplating surfing the waves silhoutted against the bright oranges and yellows of sunrise. The time to reflect, enjoy and be at one with nature. Just me and the sea alone we are one / my board in hand in the light of the sun / waves are waiting the thrill of the ride / cant wait to get out there to enjoy the glide
Early morning shot, Jupiter Inlet, Jupiter Florida. Morning before a tropical storm hit last summer. Nikon D300, handheld.

Shot at Wainuiomata Beach on the rugged wild south coast of New Zealand’s North Island, these rocks are a favorite of mine, the seventh wave in the set is pure TNT. Five mins latter and its all over, once the sun clears the hill the light is too bright to shoot. look at the image below, taken half an hour earlier, the light is softer and warmer, now you can see how harsh the the light is once the sun starts to clear the hill. This was part of a mutual learning curve with Henk Stolk who I’m sure will never take another dry seascape again ;-) Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm lens / Wainui Rush
Dudley Beach just after the sun came up. / I reckon that rock pool looks like a dog (on its side)....with a really long tail.
Shot in the North Bay at Kaikoura, 17, 07.09 (my daughters 12th birthday) this is one of the last images that I shot last week in Kaikoura, just had to do it first, this sunrise was sensational. Low tide reflections, seal colony to the right, seaward Kaikoura ranges to the left. I shot over 1200 frames last week, this one has been eating away at me to knock it off, this is a Photoshop image stich using 6 images, this sunrise alone i would have shot over a 100 frames/brackets. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Lens, Cokin ND8 soft grad, Raw files with Active D-Lighting on High. / Not quite dawn
