  • This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. A fun stunt at the time I suppose :( Best viewed on a black background. Images from Australia / Architecture / Images from Japan / Sunsets / Water Scenes

  • Taken inside an historical turn-of-the-century home at Ft. Bridger, Montana. The way the light from the window illuminated the bottle on the table was just too much for me to resist :-) To me, it was reminiscent of the Dutch masters.

  • This image was taken at an abandonded state hospital for the developmentally disabled.I came across this staircase and as I climbed it I was struck by how worn the stone treads were.Worn down a full inch in places. How many steps would that take? How many feet? How many times? This place was a home to many-probably all some knew as home.I felt honored to be able to photograph it.

You buy your first stilettos, four inches high and fire engine red. You can’t quite strut in them yet, but you will.

The world breaks everyone, and many are strong at the broken places. / Ernest Hemingway I hid this for a long time. Mostly because I sent it off to a publisher, but also because it’s without a doubt my most personal piece on RB. It was accepted by the publisher and recently I read it aloud at the book launch. Yasemin Sumner (who also had a story published in the same book) and Luckyvegetable said my voice didn’t tremble at all. I think they were being kind. After all, when you read your diary out to a room full of strangers, you’re allowed to shake a bit.

  • Back from when I first started getting into photography – bit of a fluke shot really. Taken on a Canon G2 Powershot.

  • Keenly attentive Pixy in morning sunshine

  • Depression and anxiety affect 1 in 5 Australians and can be as severe, incapacitating and life threatening as other physical ailments. Reaching out for help is often difficult. With kind thanks to Justin for modelling for this image. Taken at Hallett Cove, South Australia

  • Early morning on the Norfolk Broads, England. The glowing sunlight on the mist up ahead, where the river narrows, makes one eager to discover what beauty lies in wait around the next bend. / /

  • Cross Estate Gardens – Bernardsville, NJ – July 2008 – Shot as an HDR, handheld.

  • At the outer edge of Melbourne Australia, a lone tree looks out on a beautiful sunset :) Technical Notes: Used 3 exposures in Adobe camera raw, enhanced the already beautiful colour and contrast just slightly. I have seen a few wonderful landscape photographers so I thought I would give give you a great Recommendation Travis Easton’s Photos are MAGNIFICENT!!! • / Morning Light World English Bible / Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. From the ‘Connection Series’, this is a pencil drawing, coloured with aquacolour crayons on paper… i have played around with this quite a bit in photoshop also, applying layers and more colour to enrich the overall look When i ponder this, it gives me a feeling of hope, like after the mourning, there is morning and the sun comes out again….. It’s all about our connection with nature and other lofty things :)
