This is a painting of old working boats moored on the Georges River in Sydney, Australia. / It is painted in watercolour on paper. I love old working boats. These are full of character and age. They belonged to the fishing boats that plied Botany Bay before fishing was banned there due to depleted stocks. I used to go down to the moorings both first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening when you get completely different light on the boats. And in the evening you were rewarded by the sound of the fishermen calling to each other as they prepared for the night’s fishing. Now they are gone and I do miss them. Fortunately I have many photos to remind me of those days. See more of Freda’s works: / Boats / City / Fractals / Stillife / Figures Freda’s website

Off the coast of California when the sun is setting we sometimes get these sun spots that look like the heavens are spotlighting the ocean. It is just wonderfully peaceful and calming.
It was a dull day except for a shaft of light shining through these reeds – Isle of Skye, Scotland
Yep, this is the last one of these for a day anyway…thanks everyone, you were very respectful and terrific about my new infrared experiments… ;-) Special shout out to Dean for the idea for this one. Thanks Dean.. ;-)
Taken Saturday 10/05/08, I took a lot of shots of the water and rocks. And most of them are okay. But I particularly liked this one because it reminded me of a dinosaur skeleton. As the rocks extend into the water you can just see how the spine and head emerge at the top. And also I really like the fact that there is a hole in the last rock that shows the water through it and looks like his eye!
This image was taken from the balcony of our lovely hotel in the north of Madeira. The sun was setting so beautifully behind the cliffs that line the northern coastline I took quite a few pictures. This is the one I like best. Taken with my old and trusty Minolta Dimage 7Hi. A wallpaper of this image can be found here

Maligne Lake, in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, is one of the most famous and beautiful lakes to be found anywhere in the world. But to me, the array of mountains surrounding the lake were at least as beautiful, if not more so. They are all part of the Rocky Mountains. I suppose each of them has a name, but I have been unable to find such a list, and even if I did, matching the name to those in a photo would be hard. These two peaks were very prominent, and most of the afternoon were hidden by clouds, but for a short time the sun broke through and illuminated the slopes and cliffs in several places. / September 4,2009, Fuji S100FS camera.

The everyday routine sucks us heavily. The hard day takes away our smiles, enthusiasm, good mood, warmth of our hearts. Never give up! Evening crowns the day. Look what positive things has happened today. Enjoy them and that will bring smile on our faces and calmness will fill our entities. Always break through the crust of fatigue and apathy and end the day gloriously. And the Heaven will smile to us sending Its blessings. Hugs. :)
My Harlequins are acting strange because they are “dying”, becoming extinct…we don’t want them anymore, we don’t need them anymore…:( / People forgot to laugh, people forgot to smile…the society does not make any effort to bring back the “rainbow colored” good disposition. / The Harlequins have so much to give to us, all we need to do is take it…all they want to see that we are happy. / Why to live if we can not give…..?
