In a single moment we may be dazzled by what appears instantaneously before us. It may pass you by or catch you unawares, unless you are attuned to transitory beauty. Gaze endlessly as a scene unfolds before you. Now trace an individual droplet, now observe the energy of the water as a whole dynamic interconnected system. Then be hypnotised by the dance of beauty before you. I’ve entered a creation based on this image into the ‘in the moment’ competition – check it out here
Taken in the grounds of Elvaston Castle, Derbyshire.

After half an hour wait, the cloud finally lifted and gave us this view of light on the mountains at the end of Wastwater in the Lake District at sunset. Shen Hao large-format view camera, Fuji Velvia (RVP) 5×4” sheet film.
God’s display of HIS creation in all its splendor. I was fascinated by the effect that the direct sunlight had on the flower, bringing out the brilliance, texture, tones and the translucent nature of the petals! If you look closely, the yellow stalks of the stamens seem to be actually glowing in the sunlight!
I took this off the balcony at Cape Schanck looking down towards Gunnamatta beach. i love the sunrays coming through the clouds. / galleria mancuso / new book – galleria mancuso – images of mine / my calendar series

Fire and water don’t usually mix, but in this case they seem to flow wonderfully together. Caney Fork River at the Rock Island State Park, Tennessee. (P.S. This is not a sunset photo. The color in the reflection is from the autumn leaves. It’s a little blurry because the water was moving).
Slick Rock Falls in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina. This photo was taken by Homer as he stood perched on slippery rocks next to the waterfall! Featured in the Contrasting Perceptions Group – May 17, 2009!
Sun and water
The Seattle Market is so wonderful in itself, but the views of the water are breath taking. I took this shot through a window down one of the cool wings that extend out from the main building. It is COLD in there and it’s hard to linger…..but I was glad I did just long enough to see the dancing sunlight on the cool crisp water.
Nikon D80 / f8.0 1/60 / ISO 200 THIS IMAGE WAS FEATURED IN THE “SHOTS IN THE FOG” GROUP IN JULY 2009. On a cold winter’s morning, I walk along the path. I breath the cold air and listen to the gentle sounds that can only be heard when the world has not yet awakened. Beside the lake I stop; amazed by the beauty of the sunlight shining through the fog. I feel alive! © Lauri7 2009. All photographs and artworks in this portfolio are copyrighted and owned by the artist, Lauri7.
