  • The sunlight through the petals and leaves looked lovely against the backdrop of the snow outside. Our short days make sunshine seem all the more precious, even indoors. artisandelimage kindly suggested that I crop the line of the wall to the right, as well as a bit off the top. Thank you – I think that improved the photo. Thank you! / Winner of Tulips in Vases challenge (I know – how many people have those photos or flowers hanging around, ready to pop into a challenge, eh?) Actually, I’m truly appreciative. And nice of someone to post it on the homepage, too. Pacific Northwest Art featured May 30, 2009 – Thank you! # Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – Thank you! • Dehydration
    by George Grie

    US$4.32–US$98.80

The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. It’s a wonder any of us has any incentive to get up in the morning. :) Online Galleries: / Surrealism art prints / 2d3d graphic design software / 3ds models max software

  • Tree Faery
    by funkyfacestudio

    US$5.65–US$129.20

Photograph “to see a video of Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole” CLICK This is a photograph I took of my youngest daughter. When my daughters were younger, we used to tell Faery stories at bed time and take turns adding to the story. The stories were very long and often times they would be very revealing, these were happy memories for us so…….. I wanted to capture what one of those characters might have looked like, she was a Tree Faery and her hair was a birds nest, egg included.

June 25, 2009. / Featured in Image Writing June 24, 2009. Best Viewed Large This little guy … and all his brothers and sisters … love to come take a dip in my pool every night (I think it rains toads here) ... and every morning it is my great pleasure to scoop them out … one by one … and set them free. They’re about the size of a fingernail … a regular fingernail, you know, the kind that scrubs floors and does a bit of gardening (when not taking pictures, that is), not those long fancy manicured types. I decided the other day that it was time these guys paid for all my rescue efforts with a little modeling. Fear not … after 5 minutes or so he was sent on his merry way!!! Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm Nikon/Nikkor macro/micro lens on the morning of June 21, 2009. Shutter at 1/400, aperture f/10.0, exp. 0.00, iso 400.

part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.

  • Morning Light
    by Karin Taylor

    US$5.23–US$119.32

Morning Light World English Bible / Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. From the ‘Connection Series’, this is a pencil drawing, coloured with aquacolour crayons on paper… i have played around with this quite a bit in photoshop also, applying layers and more colour to enrich the overall look When i ponder this, it gives me a feeling of hope, like after the mourning, there is morning and the sun comes out again….. It’s all about our connection with nature and other lofty things :)
