This was taken in 2003….This was taken with my minolta on film In my grandmothers garden…She asked me to take some pictures of some of her flowers..and this is the picture that I gave her…..She was pleasantly suprised to hsee her garden visitor as well.. To this day this has remained one of my favorite picturesm as well as a top seller… This is also a tiger-striped swallowtail butterfly…
Click and view large…..trust me… =-) This is a reload for a friend that has been edited slightly . Hope that this was the intended effect. Sorry for the reload. =)
This is the full version of this and thanks to Gracey And her suggestion of a different program to use for HDR results….I was able to edit and post the full sized version.. Thanks Gracey!!!!
I couldnt think of a better word for this delicate little bloom with such vivid colors.. It is an alstroemeria flower.
hehe…thought I would give you all a silly one. This picture is one that I took to decorate my son’s bedroom…. and I added the text to it just to be silly…. :) (Just in case you dont know the song…...... that is where the text comes from) might make a cute card though…..
This is a depiction of a very common Texas butterfly….the Cloudless Sulphur Butterfly (Phoebis sennae) and this particular one is a male… These butterflies are everywhere during the late spring, summer, and early fall around my house. I have been trying to find the perfect portrait of this yellow beauty…and I dont know if I found the “perfect” one…but I did finally take one that I am satisfied with. Normally these butterflies are very timid and skittish and wont stay still for too long…especially when a human with a really large shadow comes their way. Today however it started to cool off….which worked in my favor..because all of these little guys were moving slow and just sitting in the sunshine eating and warming up….which gave me a great opportunity to take as many pictures as they would sit still for… Thank you Suni
I was at a loss for a title for this one…..and after staring at this image…this title is the one that struck me.
When I saw this image…..Daydream popped in my head….Our daydreams normally can consist of fantasies, wishes, hopes, things that may seem surreal, or even just the need to briefly escape from our everyday lives….and to me…the beauty of how this flower is complemented and enhanced by the particular color of lilac background gives it a natural beauty that is almost unreal..There is such vivid and striking beauty that it is very unique and pure..yet it is so very gentle and soft at the same time…The way the light streams in on the blooms almost gives the feeling of hope…happiness…life… Whether this makes much sense or not as to where the title came from…I dont know…but that is just what I knew the title had to be…. It just felt right..
This was the last one that this little gal let me catch of her before she flew off…...guess she suddenly got shy….
This is another old work that I took around 2003 in my Grandmothers garden..and it has remained one of my favorites as well as a personal best seller over the years…I hope that you love it as much As I do…. The butterfly is a tiger striped swallowtail Butterfly ( I believe it is a male) It was taken with my Minolta maxxum 3 SLR and all that was done as far as processing this image was cropping…. Thanks for looking! / Suni
This is an image that I have had for a month or so.. I love it… but I wasnt sure how it would be received here on the bubble…so I am posting in hope that someone somewhere likes it like I do. This was taken about a mile from my house …. Thanks / Suni
This is another view of the road that leads to my house…..or…deeper in the woods if you go the opposite way… The dirt road is naturally a rich reddish brown color..and although it complemented the color of the supple pines…I felt that presenting this image in a desaturated or black and white image would draw your eye along the path of the road more easily… / / I feel so very honored that Simon Mears has found t song lyrics to attach to this image!!! Thank you so much!!! He made my day… Check out Simon “Memories of East Texas” Memories of East Texas / And piney green rolling hills / Covered in the springtime / With golden daffodils / Rowing on Sandy Lake come April / Harvesting hay in June / Sitting by the road watching well-fires burn / By an old October moon I learned to drive on those East Texas red clay backroads / And I mean to tell you my friend / They weren’t no easy roads / You had to watch out for all the curves / Down by Kelsey Creek / And detour through the Lindsay’s pasture / When the water ran too deep Memories of East Texas / And Gilmer, county seat of Upshur / Looking back and asking myself / ‘What the hell’d you let them break your spirit for?’ / You know, their lives ran in circles so small / Ah, they thought they’d seen it all / And they could not make a place for a girl who’d seen the ocean by Michelle Shocked
Ok…for those of you who saw the larger version with two flowers in it..I uploaded the wrong one…if you would like that one for purchase..please let me know and I will reload it…but this is the one that I intended first…. Sorry! / Suni
