Old chap in Udaipur. His glasses were an instant hit! Obviously very dear to him too, he had taped them together at several places to hold the pieces together!
Captured at the Sydney rd / Brunswick Music Festival. Her smile was beautiful but it wasn’t until i started tweaking the image a little that the reflection from her glasses began to stand out. / / Art Folders… / / Entire Portfolio / Born From This Earth – Series / Hearts At War / Vehicular works / Architecture / Travel / B&W Photography / Transitional Industrial Utopian Series / Abstract / Models and Fashion Photography
OK, it wasn’t Malibu. It was Temecula, California while on vacation this summer. We were sitting around a friend’s pool having a great time when my daughter put her sunglasses on our pug Bean.
Very simple really, it’s the plot of Charade. I’m a big Audrey fan, but I hate all the cliche glitzy renditions of her, so I created my own. Besides she did more films than bloody Breakfast at Tiffany’s. other work by nook

How? / Well, to first state the obvious, this is two photos merged together. I had to shoot both subjects with the same lighting angle. The only difference being the small subject was shot from above to get the right perspective to stand on the large hand. Both photos were layered in Photoshop and corrected to match. I had to extract both from their white backgrounds (they were shot against white) and then positioned within the frame. I placed another layer between the two and “painted in” a shadow under the small subject with a soft black brush and changed the blend mode of that layer to multiply, and making of course, the shadows darker directly around the shoes according to the light direction. I prefer painting in the shadows as I get more control as to where they go. There’s even a slight shadow across the large thumb. I always say, if you notice the shadows, then you’ve done a bad job. Then I applied a gradient for the background. I post processed the whole image in Lightroom where I desaturated the image slightly, increased the clarity and applied a minor split tone of a light brown color (hence the warm tone). That’s it!
Rock n Roll baby yeah!
LOVE REFLECTIONS IN THE SIMPLEST THINGS
San Francisco January 20th 2009.. Civic Center.. Outside Big Screens.. / Political Officials and Each Other! I thought this man was beautiful.. alone and full of stoic silence.. he exuded a sense of peace somehow for me.. I was squashed in a corner but squashed in Love and friendship.. I could not move too far to get too many shots while he was sworn in.. I should have bought a box to stand on and I am 5’9!! But I got a few good shots and was with fellow Americans who cheered and booed.. (when guess whos appreared.. B and C !!) and was full of the Spirit of our country … The United States of America with emphasis on the United part!! Enjoy friends…. and you were all with me.. I saw everyone’s comments on my Iphone!!! / You sure are a wonderful family!

(Uploaded especially for my new friend Mike Scholl. You must check out his work – brilliant!) 75×100 x 3.8cm Acrylic on Canvas. There is an exhibition coming up and I have been asked to submit 8 pieces of figurative work. I thought I had completed this last September but it’s just bugged me! Anyway last week I decided to work on it again. So, originally we had this (rather unattractive boring red head) / / and with a few alterations we now have this much more friendly gal.
A birthday-present portrait of my dear bubble-buddy, Roy (to whom I sent the original)... / And the first addition to my Drives series for several years. / Happy Birthday, Roy!! : DDD soft pastel on paper and check out this amazing portrait along similar lines by the brilliant Sticky Flower….

This piece started life as a simple line drawing sketch (originally one of a few promotional works for a sunglasses company), but eventually this pose was never chosen. I later modified it a little and kept it. Gouache on ivory board – 14 inches x 19 inches
